I'm listening to my local AM radio, a Clear Channel affiliate, at the moment. They just played a corporate commercial for iHeartRadio. The beginning of the commercial had a quick mash-up of maybe 5 songs. The first song in the sequence was the opening 5 notes of Ghost Town's whistle chorus. What a surprise that was to hear so unexpectedly! I'd think the commercial spot must have been recorded prior to the release of Ghost Town, so iHeartRadio had an early commitment to giving the song exposure. Thank you, WBR!
Another thought on the Brian May twitter teases about Adam vis a vis Elvis. Brian has an unreleased cover version of a song that was a big hit for Elvis in 1961 - #1 in the UK and #4 in the US. Brian recorded this version 8 years ago, though he never released it.
Maybe Brian's thinking of releasing the track with Adam singing the vocals. Or maybe not. Oh!! Wow!! That's great iHeart is using GT beginning whistle as one of about five songs in their mash up!! Thanks for this Brian cover video. I remember that Elvis song. I enjoyed Brian's cover. Talon have you seen this Brian video? I have and posted it Talon's EntryBut thanks for looking out for me :D Always appreciated! I remember when this leaked - Brian was pissed because it wasn't finished. It was one of the last recordings he made with Cozy Powell. I always thought it was fun...I wouldn't be surprised to see Brian try to complete it with Adam for something....

Oh... you just planted quite the image in my head. Hmm hmmmmmm. I like it One more thing! The dancers will have very sexy costumes on, but their face make up will be reminiscent of skeletons! Um... Sorry. Adam is in this video with bare shoulders, and you're thinking about dancers?? gurl, where's your priorities?

But got a Spotify question of my own: When I go and 'browse', I can find in the charts section 3 top 50 charts: - United States Top 50 , - the Global Top 50, - the US Viral Top 50. None of them contains GT at the moment. Given the previous posts, I searched for this top 50 list called Popify, and only via direct search could I find it, because the name had been posted here on Atop. You have to know this name to be able to find it, or at least, if it is available somewhere as a tile under browse, I have not found it. So, what is the purpose of the hidden list. I am glad to see Adam in there, but the list has only 69K followers and is hard to find. So, question, how is a US top 50 sourced compared to this popify chart, and how do you find it (without knowing the name and searching directly)? Also, does the US viral top 50 look at sharing info in social media or only sharing info within Spotify? Thanks. None of these matter in the bigger world. What matters is that the total streaming and on demand play for Ghost Town and sales of the single = a Billboard chart entry for Ghost Town. Fans cannot stream this song enough to make a big difference -- the promotion will have to do its job and we are only on Day 4. Looks like GT is going to get US Radio airplay. That will generate streaming awareness and push it up to where it needs to be. Well interesting that you say that, because I agree with you in some way, and yet am surprised to see this posted in response to mine, because my post was actually targeted at tacking the boat the other way. I have been thinking for a while that all these suggestions to loop GT endlessly, while they give Adam approximately 0.003463yxz pennies per spin, and do help the chart, they are narrow in focus. That does not mean they are not doing what they are intended to do (maybe, given the doubts around loop plays), but I think there are stronger mechanisms to use, than maximizing our own spins. I am also someone who likes other music too, and while I want to give Adam's GT a lot of hits right now, I also like other stuff and supporting Adam is still a hobby in my life and not a full time profession, call me a bad fan all you like. It's supposed to be fun, not a chore, and some posts here sound like people are seeing it as a chore. But anyways, back to the question at hand. If his music is going up the charts, it is not because 100 people here have sacrificed themselves, but rather because thousands of other people start playing it, outside of this circle. And therefore much more useful than the looping, is sharing. So finding ways to bind Adam into playlists and finding an audience for them is wonderful, better than looping a track in your own home. Many people are using the public lists on Spotify and other places to discover their music. So Adam being in those lists, is far more useful, because then other people hear it, who may not be listening to radio at all and are not reached with tweets. So, to the extent that streaming his music helps him climb these charts, it is very useful. But any opportunity to share is probably worth more than a stream. I wish Adam were in the lists above, because then other folks, that we cannot reach via social media would start playing it. Some playlists on Spotify have many millions of followers. He is presently not yet on those lists, not even the HOUSE music ones, or others that might apply. I don't know how many people are listening to the music on the first page, but I would assume it is a lot, the house music lists I looked at, still had a few 100K listeners. And yes, I am agreeing with you on wbr doing a ton to promote this track. It is wonderful to see and I am so grateful to see it happening. Can you imagine a song like TSP would have received this kind of a kick? grrrrrrrr And, I believe, that once he releases TOH, it will be totally different sound and just like on idol, where he swung from more internal performances to wild ones, it did not maximize votes in just one round, but rather made you think, what is he going to do next, and the album will answer that. Really smart strategy.
