Welcome skaschep! Thanks for bringing over the information! How is the album doing there?
Since I'm new I'll introduce myself some. I've been lurking for a few months now. I'm not that good with words and expressing myself, so I don't post that much. I mostly stick to the facts also when I post, but I love reading other peoples reactions.
In September last year my sister asked me if I would like to go to the Queen + Adam Lambert concert in the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam on 29th of January. I agreed since I have liked Queen music since I was a kid, although I wouldn't call myself a fan, and I've never been to such a concert before. Thought it would be a nice experience. I didn't look into it very much and a few weeks before the concert I tore my Anterior cruciate ligament so it wasn't sure I would be able to go to the concert. Luckily we had seats or else I wouldn't have been able to go. Since I was on crutches it was quite the effort for me to get there and stay comfortable during the concert. Luckily my father (who also went with us) was able to help me with that and also the crowd didn't stand that much during the concert. Of course we stood up during the New Man and the Encore, but for the rest of the concert we remained seated. I also was on pain medication which I still regret somewhat, because I still think I could have enjoyed the concert even more if I was feeling fine.
The concert was really great and I loved the audience singing along and clapping and all the stuff. I remember being really impressed by Adam's performance and also the joy all the band members showed us while playing. We were seated quite far back but the music was great and we could follow everything on the big screen behind the Q. I made some video's from that screen with my phone and also got the moment where Adam takes of his sunglasses during AOBTD. You can hear the crowd scream in joy because of that. I was really impressed with his eyes at that moment. I have a thing for blue eyes anyway, but his are so amazing.
After the concert we had an hour to ride home and took a bit of time to relax before going to sleep, but I was so hyper and wanted to see the video's that I took right away. My sister and dad however were sleepy and didn't share my enthusiasm that much. They also had things to do the next day and it was of course quite late already. Since I was injured and couldn't do much anyway I spend the next few days lurking the internet to find out more about Adam. On Saturday I saw all the Idol's performances and after that I started digging deeper. During the next week I found out about the streams and have been listening to those until the end of the tour. I also went through some moments when we found out Adam was sick and put out my first tweet ever to wish him well. I was so anxious for Milan I almost felt sick myself. I am amazed about the fan base and about the amount of information that is available at the internet.
I've never felt this way about someone that is so far away from me. It's sometimes a bit scary. He's such an amazing person and I love the way he interprets the songs and seems to change them every time he sings them. Love to hear him sing, but also to hear him speak. I really hope he get's everything he deserves.
