I'm sitting here feeling a bit under the weather, but there is nothing like atop to distract me and perk me up a bit.
Catzmadam, sending positive thoughts your way.
Wow, NoAngel, you read my mind on this one. I struggle with feeling a bit nervous when he says or does something that causes waves. it's not that I'm disappointed in him, it's that I worry that somehow it will make others not like him and I think everyone should adore him like I do. It is so good to remember that he is a human doing his best. If he did and said all the things I think would be perfectly innocuous in all situations can you image how boring he would be to follow?
I love the You Got a Friend video with Eden Espinosa. It brings tears to my eyes. The best part is at the end when some audience members are asking who that guy is and that he's amazing! I'm curious if any of them there that night have realized the boy that impressed them that night 6 years ago is the Grammy nominated Adam Lambert of today?

NoAngel Thank you for your essay, it made me think & re-think - once again. Catzmadam you're in my thoughts. mika thanks for your wise words you wrote yesterday. That book "Virtually You: The Dangerous Powers of the E-Personality" seems interesting & worth reading. And to Finnish atopians: Hauskaa vappua!

NoAngel
Your essay this morning was so beautifully compassionate and wise. I wish we could all sign our support of the sentiments you express and send it on to Adam to read when he feels anxious about how "scary" things must seem at times dealing with the pressure of making a sophomore album and having your every word, action and look being dissected and evaluated in the public eye. Can you imagine the inner strength he must have to deal with it all as well as he does, mostly always in an articulate and savvy way?
He has used the life is a game metaphor, and so we know he is a strategist, but keeping ahead with the public 24/7, and having to think strategically with every public move, must be very exhausting! No wonder at times he wants to be able to keep it real. I get brain tired just playing my friends with words list, LOL.
And the fact that you're damned if you do, damned if you don't, makes the game so damned tricky. Each person playing wants a different move from you, even the people on your own team, and make the wrong move and your opponents play them along with, and even against, you. And you have to keep winning enough to even have the opportunity to play your turn each time around, and the game never stops unless you are in your own house, and then it is probably hard to stop it from playing out in your mind.
It 's a hard gig, and Adam plays it very well. This is where his family and real friends can help him feel and be real. I love that he is real. You can feel it come through in his interviews and in his performances; his realness in the middle of the fantasy and escape he creates is part of what makes him different than other musicians for me. It is his gift and is partly why I love him the way I do. He takes my little hand in his and connects with me personally when he sings, and that comes from his realness.
Someone on twitter mentioned that when they hear WWFM now they imagine Adam singing it in terms of his new album. "I wont let you down." I wish Adam could read your words when he is wondering what the myriad of different types of fans want from him and wondering how he can give it to them while creating what he wants for himself at the same time. I remember after the DC single came out, Adam tweeting that he was taking his time to create music his fans would really love and that he would love as well. Add the label into that and you begin to feel the weight of the, "I am human and doing the best I can day by day" realness.
I wish he could read your words, and know how many of us agree with them, so he could be reminded that while he can't and won't please everyone all the time, he has great, supportive fans.
I would like him to know that we won't let him down.
ETA:
Many of my scrabble games with some of you disappeared during an update, and I didn't save your scrabble names in my contact list there. If you were playing me, or if you would like to play me, would you create a new game with me? I use pflynne, my twitter name.
Gelly, Zinnia, Nica, SusieFierce, love your zen.
Mika... Loved your posts yesterday. They really made me think.
Seoul. Love the pics you find and how they make me laugh!

wal I freaking love his looks from the TVGuide. I really hope we could see him looking like that some day.... I really, really miss Adam looking like this sometimes. NoAngel, great as usual. I will never forget watching the AMAs and feeling like I would throw up, not because of Adam's performance, except the voice, which shocked me, but because I knew that there was no way the public was ready for that. That night I probably slept 2 hours. By the next day I had taken a deep breath and chilled a little, but the residual fear hung with me for days. Su-Bo gate was a little easier but I didn't want people to think he was petty and jealous. The paps in MB -by that time I was more comfortable that things would be okay and I only worried about his missing fashion sense with the hat and shorts. Bottom line, I don't want OTHER PEOPLE to take something Adam does and judge him for it when it is one incident, not the whole man. My opinion of what he means by being more real is more in relation to dealing with the public and paps. I think when he wants to be left alone, he won't submit to picture, questions, and general interference. If people are upset, so be it. Interaction will now be his choice. I am a very assertive person, but I am also a people pleaser, so I know how hard that can be.

NoAngel -- beautiful!! I finally posted my Sunday piece on page 1. (And it is not compassionate at all!) Thankfully, someone here is being wise and thoughtful today.
