Enjoyed the side bar of the "boys"... and glad I checked in early enought to catch the vids. Insightful to see them chatting...gives more of an inside perspective as to their personalities, sense of humour, and ability to talk. I went back to replay part 1 and it says private...can't access. Same with youtube. Maybe they will have it back in another form.
stampsgalcould you tell us what they said in the videos..thanks Oh gosh..just noticed you wanted what was covered in video one as well. I might have to wait until a bit later but here is the summary for... Video 2....The guys were pretty funny. Low key funny. The high lights for me were: The group talked about Monte and how he is amazing at balancing life with kids and music and album. Tommy talked about how Monte left the band when Lisa was due and returns and there was basically no fuss, his focus is on what needs to be done at the time. They talked about he can handle a lot of stuff at the same time. Warren hopes he can do it that way some day.(Monte has an in house mini studio) (Monte is sure rambly, Warren is more formal, Tommy is a little bumbly..with lots of arm waving, xander is just cool... big smile on his face.) Tommy commented on some fans thought that baby Beatrice was really his. The boys asked ...do you think it was because of the glitter.haha. (remember those tweeted pics) Tommy said he would love a little chubby happy baby like Beatrice some day, then piped in with... but ..oh all Monte’s kids are cute. They talked about a promotional calendar. They thought they would do it in the nude. Lee cherry is so good at getting all the details in a picture. Going up to some snowy mountain top. Tommy wanted to stand on a platform ..but Monte thought they should stand in the snow ...even thought their feet would get cold. Tommy pipes in I want to hug a bear...well that was news to the others...but cool. Another shot would be up a lake near Sherrie Richey’s place (Artistsupporter) where they would all jump out of the water together, with their arms in the air...that would be the December pic. Tommy talked about a shot with Monte on all fours swishing his head in a cold stream and coming up with a fish in his mouth (remember the boys are doing this calendar shoot in the nude) Warren wants to do a snow angel with only “one thing sticking up”. Oh they go on and on. Monte finishes with ...Oh it’s all a joke!! They talked about doing something on youtube to get recognized, because that is how it is done now-a-days, but someone would not let them cover his song. Maybe light xander’s mustache on fire! Xander also talked about how Monte is an amazing base player as well as guitarist, and a few other mentions of borrowing a red guitar and Tommy was impressed by whomever whatever. There was a bit of repeat type comments from the first video... but close to the end they talked about Issacs brother doing the sound in the Washington club they had played in that night and how close this world really is. Like if Neil was working in Macdonald’s and they were on tour with Adam and they showed up at where Neil worked. Lastly they talked about Monte and Tommy being the only ones from the band who are still together...but now they have the 4 of them, for Monte’s band. And they called it that because some other name ”mother or mudder or whatever was already taken” laugh laugh. It is hard as Monte will have Madonna and Adam come up ...xander has his own band (run run) Each has their own “other jobs”. Warren is in high demand. So that’s all I can remember and besides I have to get out of my pyjamas!! |

I've been thinking about Adam's "keep it real" tweet. First, let me state the obvious. I don't know Adam. Never met him. Base my impression of him on the stuff I have seen and read, so I have no real basis for what I am saying. But, hey, when did that stop any of us? Mom says that Adam has always been a ray of sunshine. Friends pre-Idol, Idol, and post-Idol all talk about how genuine and nice he is. He seems to have always been a "people magnet." Therefore, my first conclusion is that Adam's basic personality is kind, sweet, giving and positive. That is gonna be his "default" position in a situation. From time to time, "nice" people start to feel like they are being taken advantage of. That they are not allowed to be cranky, in a bad mood, or anti-social. That they are not allowed to say "no." That they are not being "genuine" when they are nice at times when they don't feel like it. During those times, they may vow to themselves, and others, that they are gonna be more "honest" and "real." But, they don't, then, turn into curmudgeons. They give themselves permission to not always be sunshine and light, relieving the pressure they feel from others, and the pressure they put on themselves. Then, having that permission, they DECIDE to be nice, anyway. Like I said, it is their default. It is their natural state of being. Adam may now be giving himself permission to be less than gracious when his private time is invaded by paps or stalkers. He may refuse a few autographs, a few pics, and he may give the invaders a glare and then walk on. He may be more apt to call someone out for clearly inappropriate behavior. I don't think that Adam will substantially change how he relates to people. 1) That is naturally the way he is. That IS his "real." 2) That way of relating is successful. People are automatically drawn to that genuine kindness and interaction, like bees to honey. He is a keen observer of people, and he can see how effective it is to create allies and supporters. 3) Being warm and giving feels good! The positive creates more positivity. It is self-reinforcing. 4) Adam is committed to carving a permanent place for himself, and he is savvy. A little snark once in a while as a tension reliever may be okay, but he is not going to cut off his nose to spite his face. Being positive is a way to promote himself. He has seen how successful that has always been for him. I predict, therefore, that Adam will remain Adam, and we will see little change in his interaction with others. He may be a bit more HBIC when people are up in his grill. He may be a little less tolerant of fools. But, he will remain apple pie Adam, bringing sunshine with him wherever he goes. Oh cassie, don't know what to say, you write and think so nicely, wisely and compationately. Thank you. I just love your reasoning here.  ,what tantun said  |

Great essays this morning, Q3 and NoAngel. NoAngel, I had the same reaction when Adam said he was going to start keeping it real. Woa!!! You mean the last 2 years haven't been Adam keeping it real? More roller coasters ahead and I love them! I can't imagine two things: 1) Why everyone in the world doesn't appreciate this man, not only as the greatest voice of several decades, but also as a human being. 2) How anyone can even stan someone else. Susie said yesterday, that stanning Adam is like having a grab bag everyday! You never know what's going to come out of it! Ahhh, Q3, very wise advice, as always about the fan wars. I hope most of Adam's fans are learning to stay away, except for when some truths need to be mentioned in certain places. And the James Durbin fans I just chalk up to, "Well, that's Idol. And these fans must be very young." :-/ Yes, I agree -- young and new to Idol. Even the guy who ran the unofficial JamesDurbinNews fansite was young.I'm accustomed to fanwars after two years of following Adam, and a year's worth of battle scars ;D from MJs. IMO, there is a huge difference between the typical fanwars of "my Idol is better than your Idol" and the outright vile language that was used on the two offending JD twitter accounts. The comments on those accounts could only be classified as outright Hate Speech, not fanwars. Also, I don't see where being young has anything to do with what we read on those twitter accounts. There are plenty of older people who engage in Hate Speech and plenty of young people who would NEVER engage in such hateful comments. (my 18 year old daughter was shocked and mortified at the comments) I was happy to see that all of these accounts, pages, etc. were closed. It takes a seriously disturbed person to go to such lengths and devote so much time and energy to hate. :( I do believe this situation fell outside your typical fanwar, and I'm glad the whole operation was shut down before things got worse. ETA: I'm all for staying out of the typical fanwars. I never waste my time commenting on articles or engaging in twitter battles, etc. It is usually best to just ignore those types of situations. |

Q3. Loved your post. I love Atop and the mix and balance of all the posts you all put up... Posts that are serious and funny, seriously funny, informative and frivolous, dramatic and subtle, deep and shallow. The tone switches from moment to moment, just like it does in real life, helping me remember that while it is good not to stay too deep or too shallow for too long, and that coasting in the middle can be restful, the moments wading into the deep and into the shallow are what give life it's richness, and it's best when there is a balance of both. You are the best! I am coming home from Boston and family, after a wonderful vacation and reunion, to an empty house, but all of you still live here, and that is such a good thing.  I loved your post  lynne you always express how I feel thank you. ETA. If someone wants to share what is the Danny Gokey Family Dinner incident that Q3 mentions in her post? ??? I wasnt following any forums during that period and I dont know anything about it. Just curious. |
