Even Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith are not Taylor Swift! Only comparable one I can think of is Katy Perry. This era for Rhianna is not going great even! So, long story short, no one is a Swift or Perry. Every other artist has to climb the charts!!

Not comparable to Taylor Swift, Sam Smith or Ed Sheeran. It is much easier to get a song on pop radio if you had a recent hit on pop radio. Adam has 2 modest pop radio hits in 2010 -- WWFM got up to #13 -- and it took 6 weeks. "Ghost Town" is his most successful radio song ever at this point after release. There is no set amount of time for a song to move up the pop radio chart. Here are the top 5 songs on US Pop Radio, total spins last week, and release date. 1 THE WEEKND Earned It 17055 December 23, 2014 December 23, 2014 2 ELLIE GOULDING Love Me Like Like... 16298 January 7, 2015 3 WIZ KHALIFA See You Again f... 13954 March 17, 2015 (A very fast moving song) 4 JASON DERULO Want To Want M... 13885 March 9, 2015 (A very fast moving song) 5 NATALIE LA ROSE Somebody f/... 13738 January 6, 2015 How fast a song move is partially based on the labels promo strategy -- my GUESS is that GT will peak on radio sometime in late June. They are moving it very quickly. Sorry - I wasn't really trying to compare Adam to these artists - more just thinking of any recent chart climbers and what their pattern was once they were released - more comparing the journey up the chart form release time to charting time GT is a much newer song than most of the songs on the top 40 chart. I listed the top 5 songs and there release dates. Here are most of the songs that were released to Mainstream Top 40 by impact date and by their rank on the Mediabase Top 40 airplay chart. There are some exceptions like Wiz Khalifa's SYA, but GT is tracking like most of the established pop stars -- for example Pitbull + Chris Brown. 4/7 Mainstream #31 Martin Garrix f/Usher "Don't Look Down" (Spinnin' Records/RCA) #3 Wiz Khalifa f/Charlie Puth "See You Again" (RRP/Atlantic) 4/14 Mainstream #39 Dillon Francis & DJ Snake "Get Low" (Mad Decent/Columbia) #45 Ne-Yo "Coming With You" (Motown/Capitol) 4/21 Mainstream #49 Jeremih f/Flo Rida "Tonight Belongs To U!" (Def Jam) -- Marlon Roudette "When The Beat Drops Out" (Columbia) #37 Pitbull f/Chris Brown "Fun" (Mr. 305/Polo Grounds/RCA) #46 Years & Years "King" (Cherrytree/Interscope) 4/28 Mainstream -- Alyxx Dione f/Jason Derulo "Chingalinga" (Future History/RCA) -- Axwell ^ Ingrosso "On My Way" (Def Jam) -- Banks "Beggin For Thread" (Harvest/Capitol) -- Bea Miller "Fire N Gold" (Hollywood) -- Galantis "Runaway (U & I)" (RRP/Big Beat/Atlantic) -- Olly Murs f/Demi Lovato "Up" (SYCO/Columbia) #42 Adam Lambert "Ghost Town" (Warner) -- = not in the Top 50 songs.

Oh how different the world would have been if it would have shot up the radio chart in 6 weeks. Maybe that was a dream typo.

I have a dream: Adam needs to sing a song for a teen movie or something Disney to really grow his younger fan base.He is so good at mimicking voices, he could be a great Disney hero/offbeat, rakish, yet lovable. He's got great comic timing. If he can get a hit single or two or have the album hit it big, maybe he'll be in the Runnin' .

Adam promo is targeting music buyers who are 18 - 35 -- so Disney would not help much. It might actually undermine what they are trying to do. Perhaps getting a song into a hit movie like "See You Again" which was in the action film Furious 7.

Did we give up on the new Bond movie. I will do my intense research (Google) and be back. Empire would be a huge coup!
