Is the loss of AI due to different stations spinning? i.e. a station with larger AI decreased the spins while a smaller imprint station(s) increased? The adjustment of AI was across the board because they updated the stations on the panel according to the new ratings figures for the year. In other words, fewer people are listening to radio overall. The biggest shift is in the target demo for Top 40 -- 18-29 moving to on demand media.

The HDD building chart today is interesting. There aren't many spins between Adam and the song right above. The differential is about 35 spins.
According to the rolling Top40, GT had its highest increase in daily spin number of the week in this morning's report. The high was Thursday at + 28 and today it is +40.
If winning that weekend show being talked about on the list adds enough new spins, GT could overtake R5 Let's Not be Alone Tonight which is losing spins but not that fast. 35 is not a lot of ground to make up so it seems possible.
There is more competition on the horizon (well, there always is) if what I am reading is correct. Seems a new Sam Smith song is on its way and if they have the same kind of deal as this new Maroon 5 release, it will sail away. But it seems there is still room with other songs dropping spins so once in the top 40, hopefully there is continued room to move up and get more exposure.
Probably not yet significant but interesting to keep an eye on is The HDD report showing the Britney Pretty Girls travesty losing spins and dropping two positions. I wonder if the miracle can happen and crappy songs even if really pushed up quickly lose momentum. Perhaps such a miracle can happen with "The Summer's Gonna Hurt". Maybe the name turns out to be an omen for them and not in a good way. Seems like it is about time. Riding high on air.

Britney's song is one of the worst songs I have seen go to radio in a very long time. Would not be surprised at all to see radio waking up!
ETA: Just checked this morning's chart and Britney is up 2 positions, not down, so IDK how HDD ahs her going down.

Looks like Photograph is a major mover on HDD going from 72 to 46. Ouch. That might be another one along with Sam Smith that moves past GT but hopefully there is till enough coming down that GT gets there this week or next. Morning chart showed it moving from 74 to 50. Would love to know more about HDD building and how it is possible to change so much from the morning Mediabase report.

The Mediabase report is a 7-day rolling report so as one day comes on another falls off and you are always looking at 7 days worth of spins. The building chart is apparently the week as it develops so each day it is one additional days spins. The data may also be collected at different intervals. This morning's Mediabase report is spins up until Midnight. The numbers are reported for midnight to midnight spins each day. This building chart seems to get numbers updated at various times during the day and I don't even remember seeing a final that matched the published chart at the end. I don't think it is possible to really compare it to the rolling reports. ETA: Brit's song moved up 2 spots from yesterday on the rolling chart but it is down from last week which is what the building chart shows.

I haven't been watching it that closely and it isn't archived so unless you copy it you can't go back and compare. But what would you even compare since one is always 7 days of spins and the other is anywhere from 1 to 6 depending on when you look at it. I don't even remember seeing it update on Sunday so I guess you never even get the full 7 days. I don't see how it's really of any use except that you might see indications of songs that are coming out of nowhere in to the charts. I don't see any benefit in trying to draw any correlation between the two charts.

Maybe not but I think it might be fun to track it and see if anything interesting turns up especially on the Saturday reports as then you at least get six days. I will check to see if it updates tomorrow and then is in any way foreshadowing the Sunday night report. Might be a total waste of time but I prefer it to worrying about UK radio play at this point in time.

Look at that spin pick up! I already posted the top 40 over on the main thread but not the Hot AC. So nice to see it inside the top 30. Do these positions usually hold for the Sunday published report or can something hot like Photograph pass him today on the Top 40?
