Bamafan just called! She said they're fine. They're inside today because of the rain. She also said:

They have a generator so she was able to wash and blow dry her hair for the first time, although in cold water. They have light bulbs with the generator. They have no gas so don't have heat but they're not cold. It's in the 50's here today and upper 60's tomorrow and then will get warmer again.

The tornado took out 38 miles of power poles and those will have to be replaced before they can have power again. She had no idea how long that will take but expects it to be a good while.

The Wal-Mart is now running on a generator and open. Some of the fast food places are open.

Someone loaned them an old truck so they have a way to get around and get supplies.

They are covered up with food that people have brought them. Lots of it junk food and fattening stuff and she said she's gonna end up being fat. For those of you who have met her, you know that'll never happen! LOL

They have plastic on the windows secured with duct tape and the moisture keeps making the duct tape come off so they're constantly messing with that. All 36 windows were blown out. They have to keep replacing it to keep the bugs and squirrels out. She saw a squirrel about to come in the house at one window.

We lost our connection and I typed to here and she just called again, we talked about 2 minutes and the connection is lost AGAIN. Grrr

Her driveway is now clear but she said debris is piled everywhere. They just have a narrow opening to get the truck in. Debris is piled HIGH on the street. Her 18 X 24 foot deck is piled out there along with LOTS of garbage.

HA! She called again (3rd time LOL) - this time on her husbands cell and we talked about 30 minutes.

Mayumi - she said she almost called you last night but was afraid you were already in bed. She figured you were at work now.

She mentioned getting a text from one of you but I can't remember who it was now - Savvy maybe? She just hasn't been able to return all the calls and texts she's gotten.

Her cousin in Holly Pond came and got their laundry and brought it back clean and folded. The cousin also brought lots of food and coolers of drinks. They had to park about a block away and haul all that stuff in on foot.

I died laughing when she said this: "This is like camping out and I'm not much of a camper - I'm more of a resort person". She was cheerful and laughing about their situation the whole time we talked. Bamafan is a super upbeat person and this has in no way broken her spirit.
