Hi Guys It is zen time. The HDD chart updated at 12:15 today shows GT down to 44. TS, Sheeran, Years and Years? and Major Lazer all passing it in terms of increased spins. There is a whole week for things to shift and change but it might freak out the faint hearted till it all shakes out. This doesn't take recurrents into account. Where does it have the 3 songs that are dropping? ETA:Ha, ha! Nate, Calvin & Rihanna are not holding their positions this week, so HDD is VERY wrong! I am learning it is a very one dimensional report "in the moment" and probably will not reflect the reality at week's end when everything is taken into account |

OK tell me not to get my worry beads out
I listen to Q102 Philly...yes they added..the playlist last week 40 Remember I questions what spins he had from this station because I was hearing the song (trust me this was shear torture as I had to listen to the same songs over and over and over 
SO I checked today ..being curious...playlist he dropped to 43..WTF  I'm just bummed so I've decided to hang up the radio listening 'cause riding home what FN song I hear??? new TS one..

Most of the big leader stations won't play it much until it moves up the Mediabase HAC and CHR charts into the 20s and 30s! This is typical for most artists unless they are Taylor Swift, Katy Perry or Rihanna. It takes time. It will be interesting to see how fast SS's new song will move up. |

IMO, Don't listen to stations you don't like. You can check their most recently played list if you want to send out a "I just heard #GhostTown on Philly102, sounds so good." tweet. As far as GT being #43. What you are looking at is that GT is the 43rd most played song on their station last week. That's a great position. It's really close to what he is on the charts but even more important by being in the 40s he's actually higher in their rotation than you think. Remember that the charts we look at where he was #40 for the week and #42 today are charts that do not include songs that have gone recurrent or purged. There are lots of songs that still get really really high plays but have been around so long that they are recurrent. That doesn't mean the station has stopped playing those recurrent songs, those songs will still show up on their play list. For example they have these four songs in their top 20 and they are not in the top 50 of the mediabase chart. If the same holds true for their 21-40 songs then Adam could be at least 8 positions higher than his chart position. Nico & Vinz - Am I Wrong Missy Elliott - get your freak on Jz & Alicia Keys - Empire state of mind Alvin Harris - Sweet Nothin So I'd say Philly 102 loves GT, and is playing it way above it's mediabase chart position. All positive things. |
