OK tell me not to get my worry beads out
I listen to Q102 Philly...yes they added..the playlist last week 40 Remember I questions what spins he had from this station because I was hearing the song (trust me this was shear torture as I had to listen to the same songs over and over and over 
SO I checked today ..being curious...playlist he dropped to 43..WTF  I'm just bummed so I've decided to hang up the radio listening 'cause riding home what FN song I hear??? new TS one..

31 34 ADAM LAMBERT Ghost Town 16 17 -1 0.2585Honestly if you are this stressed out over radio and you don't even enjoy listening to it, I would highly recommend that you back away from the numbers thread and just let it be. At this point all we as fans can do is participate in vote contest things for stations in our areas, thank the DJ's when you hear the song and not be insulting about pop music. There are many many reasons for stations to reduce spins and not all of them are indications of a negative response to a song. Q102 is not a station that I would worry about not supporting Adam. At this point I am more inclined to think that they are holding off on purpose so that when they do kick in to high gear with the song it will be at a point that will result in good movement for the song. Adam is just starting the east coast promo rounds. Z100 has been slowly increasing spins. IMHO there is NOTHING to worry about. FYI those playlist positions that show on the station websites tend to fluctuate a lot because of varying times that songs are being played. If you happened to check at a point that was pretty far off from the last time the song was played it will likely be showing lower on the list. As you can see above GT dropped 1 spin and 3 positions on their chart. I posted yesterdays positions for you after your last angsty post. A lot of these position fluctuations are more about what other songs are being added or dropped and also when they do those once an hour spin deals naturally other songs on their playlists will loose spins so that they make room for the specials. None of that means a problem for GT. |

IMO, Don't listen to stations you don't like. You can check their most recently played list if you want to send out a "I just heard #GhostTown on Philly102, sounds so good." tweet. As far as GT being #43. What you are looking at is that GT is the 43rd most played song on their station last week. That's a great position. It's really close to what he is on the charts but even more important by being in the 40s he's actually higher in their rotation than you think. Remember that the charts we look at where he was #40 for the week and #42 today are charts that do not include songs that have gone recurrent or purged. There are lots of songs that still get really really high plays but have been around so long that they are recurrent. That doesn't mean the station has stopped playing those recurrent songs, those songs will still show up on their play list. For example they have these four songs in their top 20 and they are not in the top 50 of the mediabase chart. If the same holds true for their 21-40 songs then Adam could be at least 8 positions higher than his chart position. Nico & Vinz - Am I Wrong Missy Elliott - get your freak on Jz & Alicia Keys - Empire state of mind Alvin Harris - Sweet Nothin So I'd say Philly 102 loves GT, and is playing it way above it's mediabase chart position. All positive things. Q102 is my local Top 40 station and they played GT 16 times last week. I would LOVE it if they played it more often. I remember hearing WWFM quite often on Q102 and I would happily sing along with it in my horrible off-key voice. I think 16 times a week for a big urban station is a big deal. That's twice every day and three times on weekends. Can't ask for more on a song that just barely put it's toe in the Top 40 water. WWFM went up to #8 that's weeks or even months away for GT and we'll need the big stations to be spinning big at that time and not at this time. |
