Watching CLTCL from QAL just now and I had this crazy idea. I am cooking up some mashed potatoes. In one of the Chicago interviews today, the gal talked about Adam portraying Elvis and he said he had done it. She asked if he would agree to play Elvis in a movie and he showed no hesitation in giving an emphatic and confident "yes."
Now, couple that with another interview question today, I think, where he was asked about future goals, and he sounded very definite about doing something for TV or a film role. Definitely would play Elvis in a movie, and definitely wants to pursue work in film. Hmmmm. Could he possibly be talking about a project in the planning stages? Hey, it could happen.

It's true, he never credits the singers, but the fact is Adam said "he didn't put our little names in there" before he sang LMD for the first time, so IDK. Maybe it was an issue and maybe not. Avicii leaves the studio...Nile calls up Adam out of the blue ...kinda begs Adam to come in and help with a track he is working on as he is leaving the next day. Adam agrees...jumps on his treadmill to get the birthday party libations moving through his system. He goes in helps with lyrics, sings it once. BETCHA...the "DETAILS" of how Avicii sets up his contracts was not made apparent to Adam at the late night work session. But, Adam does at some point agree to roll with it ...to have it on the album. At least he gets a few royalties with a writing credit ...for album sales. Something versus nothing! If it flew as a single even better....if not at least Avicii fans may read credits on an album purchase. A pick up of new fans comes in many ways. I love LMD. I strongly doubt that Adam did not know the "details" before he recorded the vocals for LMD. He has been in the music business for a long, long time. Featured artists do not get royalties, songwriters get a royalty share -- and Adam got a piece of every copy of TRUE that sold, worldwide plus a piece of every single sale, plus a piece of the licensing by Lipton, plus a piece of every stream, plus.... In other words, it was more than a "few" royalties. *** JMHO but Adam and his team is using LMD as part of the relaunch of Adam to connect him to EDM. It is something he is purposefully mentioning. Rolling Stone, May 8, 2015: "On Idol, Lambert was known for his over-the-top takes on songs like "Ring of Fire," and his dance-diva turns on "Shady" (from his 2012 album Trespassing) and "Lay Me Down" (from Avicii's True) showed how he could use his voice at full throttle. But here, he's pulling back slightly while still giving full emotional weight to his performances." I don't believe there is any drama between Avicii and Adam. But it's a business. Adam's involvement with this came together quickly via Nile. It was just one of these 'carpe diem' moments and who knows when the contractual stuff was sorted out. Remember, Adam was woken by Nile and he got himself to the studio in spite of a hangover, on Nile's request. So who knows how all that exactly went down. Even Nile himself, gave us a couple of different versions on that one. But what was consistent in the message, is that there was a finished chorus, but that Nile and Adam added some lyrics and then Adam sang it, so that would be contribution in two ways, as a singer and song-writer. My understanding was always that Adam did get recognition and his share as a songwriter, just that the singing part was not mentioned on the track.
I don't think that Avicii is doing himself any favors, by doing what he is doing. Don't think this is a prudent strategy on his or his manager's part. Not in the long run, at least.
Now, on the other hand, Adam has mentioned many times that Brian came, listened to the Lucy track and had some great ideas for a riff that was added, and Adam is clearly giving credit in various interviews too. Yet, I remember, in an early listing of credits for this song, BM was not listed with songwriting credit, which I thought was strange. Maybe that was preliminary info. Would love to look up what it says there now. What was again the link to look this up? Tried to look it up via ASCAP, but was not successful with that, must be doing that wrong.
I am sure that Adam has every intention to give everyone credit that deserves it, and probably therefore also expects that from others. Only fair, imo.

I've been very sporadic here lately I know, so this was probably posted but... No Adam but tangentially related - Official footage from QAL Sydney...perhaps this comes as a teaser for an upcoming Blu-Ray? I love the Roger "meh that was okay" review of Rufus Nice to se ya talon! That really is a great video, GD I miss the tour!!!!!! Have you checked out Adam's new stuff?? I of course have heard Ghost Town and I heard the second track released - I have not gotten the chance to hear the two newer "leaks" Adam gave. Hoping to grab some time after Memorial Day! In case you missed my thoughts - GT has grown on me...not a big fan of the disco cowboy moments but it is a solid track. Underground was a nice RnB track - definitely a better feel than the stuff on Trespassing.

Hey, I'm sorry if this has been asked/answered before already, but does anyone know when we'll get the two songs download links if we pre-ordered the album from his website? Underground came the day after so I was thinking they'd come today but they haven't yet. I got a notice from iTunes today via email that the titles were available. I just opened the email and they downloaded automatically to my iPod (that's where I opened the email). Went to my music and there they were. (did that make sense?) Yes, except I didn't pre-order it from iTunes but from his website store. For Underground they emailed a one-time use link to a direct download. Haven't gotten these yet though.

American singer-songwriter Adam Lambert also provides vocals for the track. The track was released as the fifth single from his album on April 21, 2014. Q3, I am actually surprised that you are hoping for 250K. I would be of course delighted, but that is higher than FYE and 3 times the first week sale of TSP. Yes, the run-up, as we all agree, was much better managed and he is now more known via QAL and Glee, but still, that is a big number in today's market. So, let's hope for the best.
I love this album or what I know of it so far. Think they have done a wonderful job to bring Adam's skill to the forefront, without laying it on quite so thick. Created some interesting music. Given us a lot of variation. And TOH (the single snippet) sounds grand! Talk about some vocal gymnastics on that track.
Thank you for pointing out how brilliantly this whole era 3 is going for Adam. I also don't understand how people can be unhappy with it, especially here in Pennsylvania. We have so many stations spinning it now. B104 and Q102 have been supporters of Adam forever, and especially in this era, they have the green light to go ahead and spin Adam's track and they do. Now my local CHR station in Harrisburg has joined, and I believe Wilkes-Barre has also got one station spinning it already. And that is just the eastern part of the state. For the first time in 6 years, I can pick between multiple stations to listen to his song, and it is played often. I am thrilled. During WWFM it took 4 months to reach anywhere close to that coverage that I am now finding after just a few weeks. I am thrilled, and given that the streaming data are coming along, Shazam is looking good, international reports are positive on various fronts, and radio is still adding, I am not sure what more I could possibly ask for.
Actually, what I am really wishing for is that after the first week of TOH sales, that that high level of sales continues, that more people discover the album and buy it, and that he has some sustained sales for a while. That is what I would wish for him more than anything else. Oh, and a major Grammy nomination. I'm not greedy, am I?
