I'm a native Philly gal (4th generation) and I still live locally in the Philly burbs. I don't know what to do about Q102. I tweet them to thank them for playing GT, instant request it a few times a day and I'm even on their own rate the music panel. What more can I do? Any suggestions? Q102 is fishing for Glamberts today, see my suggestions at adamtopia.com/post/623493/thread with their twitter. It wouldn't hurt to include some of the glambert accounts with big followers because it doesn't look like any of them have retweeted it yet either. I posted ideas in the main thread as this really isn't a numbers discussion.

Another plus is that Adam just jumped into the top 50 on AC as well so he will have airplay on 3 formats going in to album release. Here's the overall AI reports from Kworb. This is all formats combined. Pos Pos+ Artist Title Aud Aud+ Spins Spins+ iTunes PkPos PkAud PkSpins Formats 155 +2 ADAM LAMBERT Ghost Town 12.072 +0.157 2867 +55 188 155 12.072 2867 Pop/HAC/AC
OMG! Totally missed this! TY!! He's actually at #49, popped in this morning. I double checked and he wasn't in top 50 the day before. Also saw GT at #32 in ARIA Singles Chart in Australia. ETA: I'd like to also point out that the promo is definitely having an effect because Ghost Town has pretty much stabilized on iTunes in the #190-205 range. Also for the first time the clean version of GT has climbed about 200 spots. It's been in and out of the top 1500 but is in the #1200's now. The album still fluctuates more currently down to #281.

Also
AC
80 48 ADAM LAMBERT Ghost Town 31 8 23 0.102
+1 Spins -3 Bullet -.004 Audience
Unfortunately the 3 songs that could have been purged from the HAC chart all managed to stay within the top 10 so unless I missed something he's probably not moving up higher for the published chart.
ETA: On CHR Taylor's song "Style" should be going recurrent so looks like he'll end up at #36
ETA2: Kworb's worldwide iTunes rank chart
Pos Pos+ Artist Points 97 +11 Adam Lambert 279

Ok, so the only use I can really see for the HDD Building Mediabase chart is to track the actual daily spin counts rather than just increases and decreases. I recorded each day's figures then did all the math and here is what I come up with. Daily Spins
CHR LW TW Sunday 176 164 Monday 209 206 Tuesday 163 176 Wednesday 211 212 Thursday 205 220 Friday 197 226 Saturday 256 333
HAC LW TW
Sunday 145 170 Monday 122 140 Tuesday 126 133 Wednesday 124 154 Thursday 111 148 Friday 126 152 Saturday 148 193
You can see that spin counts from day to day fluctuate up and down. Radio station programming changes depending on day of the week, and day part. Certain songs may only get spun during certain parts of the day. Some days have different special programming that in turn affects available spin slots for the rest of the day. Weekend programming is different from weekday programming. Syndicated show spins also will affect others because if a song may be due a spin by station frequency in the last half hour before a syndicated show but they know the show would be spinning it as well sometimes they might skip a spin. Some syndicated programs straddle the midnight hour and while they may spin a song 2 or 3 times during the show a different number of spins might be before midnight on one night but after midnight on another. In other words it's super complicated and factors regarding minor spin count reductions per station often have nothing to do with the song itself. +/- 1-3 spins at an individual station is not an indication of problems with the song. Even larger reductions really need to be looked at in relation to what other stations are doing. Leaders sometimes back off to a more average overall spin pace for a song without it being a negative in terms of the song's trajectory. Weekends can be especially traumatic in that a big update due to syndicated spins one week could be followed by big negatives the following week if those spins are lost. For instance currently on HAC GT had AT40 HAC spins last weekend because it was played as the breakout track. It made the countdown this week so it didn't loose those spins but if it had not made the countdown until next week it would have caused a loss of those particular syndicated spins. The countdown shows actually usually do a pretty good job of timing those so a breakout one week makes the countdown the next but sometimes unforeseen circumstances do get in the way. The main reason I'm going in to this is to try to combat the idea that seeing a negative number automatically is reason for worry. The context of the negative number is what's important. It's great when people want to understand the numbers but it's not so great when the mere sight of a negative causes alarm. The first thing to understand about the numbers game is that there will be negative numbers. The advice I have for people is very similar to advice for dieters, if the sight of a negative causes anxiety then stay away from the numbers just as dieters are advised to weigh less frequently if the numbers give them anxiety. Asking questions is great, just try to avoid Chicken Little syndrome of starting the post with an "OMG the sky is falling" tone.

Thanks rihannsu, knew somewhere there were daily numbers. With your information I reverse engineered the mediabase numbers and added the daily spins to my spreadsheet.
It's funny often the daily spins increase and yet the bullet+- goes down and just the opposite too. Thank goodness for weekly and not daily charts.
