I disagree, cassie! I am not getting hooked on this show at all. There's something missing (Besides Adam) Give me Idol over this, any day!
Every week, I have lost a bit of my enthusiasm for this show. Last night made me relaize how good Idol is! (I know! Who’d have thought?!) I do think Adam and Cee Lo have the 2 best teams, though, so maybe next week will be bettter.
My favorite "Voice" was Xenia, without a doubt. Her tone just has me in awe. She's so new and green I love that about her. If this were Idol, we'd get to see her grow and develop over the next 6 weeks. But with this format, there's a good chance she may be gone next week. Don't know why they are not running this show through summer. Seems weird to have it all end on June 29th with only 4 live shows. :-/
I just downloaded Xenia's song from i-Tunes and it is pretty damn amazing. It is currently #82
Oh, and while there, I noticed Dia's versions of Heartless is #28. No other performances are in the i-Tunes 100.

It does not allow one to get as invested in the contestants. Hell, I had problems remembering their names. However, it's a fun show. The coaches banter is very entertaining. I like the coaches performaing with their teams. I think I like not getting invested. It's music and a performance show. I listen, I watch, I'm entertained. Good TV, a little less reality TV. I will tune in again because I want to see how Cee Lo and Adam's teams do. Also, I want to see the interaction between Cee Lo and Adam as their teams compete. I also want to see what Xtina and Blake have to say while watching the other teams compete. In summary, it ain't Idol, but the chemistry makes me want want to see more. Seeing Dia on the itunes chart at #28 makes it even more interesting. |

I am sitting here nodding my head over what some of you have said.. I really like the format of this show vs. Idol..
that said.. I am not going to be happy with how fast it will be over.. I want to see some of the contestants grow just a bit..
Really wish it were able to extend just a few extra wks into July may be all certain contestants need to find their feet.. but at the same time these are not really "green" performers.. so either they have it or they don't.
There are 5 that I like and will be sad that only one wins.. lol.. but since they are currently performing artist.. this may be a boost to their careers regardless where they end up.

Seems like at times it is taking away from the peeps on her team. ETA and I'll make my final decision when this season is over but for now I much prefer this to Idol. Maybe I appreciate having a wider sprectrum of talent on The Voice, from the younger inexperienced ones to those that have been slogging away in the business for quite awhile. |

Seems like at times it is taking away from the peeps on her team. I agree, and I also thought her comments to Patrick about taking off his pants were objectionable. Imagine if one of the male judges had said something like that to one of the female contestants. When I started watching this show, I thought I would like it better than Idol because The Voice seems to have more respect for their contestants (the above-referenced Xtina comment excepted), but I still think I like Idol better. The Voice is just a little too slick for me. There's something more endearing about the cheesiness of Idol, and I do feel that we get to know the contestants better on Idol. It's not to say I'm not enjoying The Voice, because I am, but no matter how frustrated I get with Idol, I still look forward to each episode more than I have The Voice. It could just be a matter of familiarity, though, I suppose. And I hate to admit this, but I'm having a very hard time getting past Beverly's bald head. She's a great singer, but I'm really put off by her appearance. She looks like this woman in Total Recall:  |

I was auprised that Beverly was America pick for Xtina's team. Doubly surprised that Xtina chose to save Frenchie. They were the best of her performers last week, but i expected Xtina to save the teenaager.
The Thompson girls were not good.

Adam was right to make Casey sing that song uptempo. I love her voice and she did a pretty good job on that.
