Does it not bode well for GT with so few stations adding now or is this to be expected? Can anyone explain what's happening? I know nothing about numbers, but this seems such a decline from previous add days.

Does it not bode well for GT with so few stations adding now or is this to be expected? Can anyone explain what's happening? I know nothing about numbers, but this seems such a decline from previous add days. No this is not necessarily a problem. Right now we are in a period away from the original impact date and before the song has climbed high on the charts so a lull in adds is to be expected. Adds are only really something to focus on around the impact date because it is usually a good gauge of how radio is responding to the song. But spins are what is important and the fact is that a station can add a song and NEVER spin it just as easily as they can spin a song they never add. So spins are much more important. GT has just gotten in to the top 30 in CHR and it hasn't even made the AT 40 countdown yet so there are stations that really aren't looking at it yet. What we need now is for the stations that are already spinning the song to ramp up their spins and that is happening. If you are not used to following the numbers game then my advice would be just ignore the stuff about adds because unless you really know what's up it doesn't really tell you anything. GT is doing fine and Tuesday's have been the lowest spin count days of the week. Monday's update was a little weird but I think there may have been some syndicated program last Monday that fell off yesterday so the update was weird. Today's update was fine.

Does anyone know about Spotify and their stream counters?
It hasn't changed since Monday, possibly longer.
Wrote down Adam's numbers on Monday, thinking it would be fun to see how quickly they changed. So far, no change. People on Twitter say they've seen 24 hours go with no updates, but not this long.
Can't get to this week numbers for James Taylor and Hillary Duff because they have too many back catalogue titles and Spotify only lists top 10 streams per artist.
But Nate Ruess numbers haven't changed either.
Now there is no incentive for Spotify to pay accurately, but hoping that whatever count they report to Billboard is real. Wonder if they freeze release week streams or something to cut down on people checking in every half hour, like I might have done.
FYI - Here are the TOH stream numbers that haven't changed:
GT 9,095,496 ALN 449,696 EITN 337,968 U 369,282
ETA: If you search "Spotify stream" on Twitter, basically you get a lot of fans of Adam urging people to stream. Wondering if Spotify has decided to do a YT thing and freeze count to verify action. But we ain't no bots. We are real people, really streaming.

I don't know anything about Spotify updates but I do remember last week or week before there was a time when they didn't update for a couple of days so I assume it just happens occasionally.

If you want to check stream history, see the growth trend etc you can check out my spreadsheet (the Streams tab) at docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CY93U5HQ3BZ95hupvY_o1GrzTC-dIDvmPPu7AdmJKlU/edit#gid=925003055 I made up for the days they didn't update but you can see the difference from day to day.
