Does anyone know about Spotify and their stream counters? It hasn't changed since Monday, possibly longer. Wrote down Adam's numbers on Monday, thinking it would be fun to see how quickly they changed. So far, no change. People on Twitter say they've seen 24 hours go with no updates, but not this long. Can't get to this week numbers for James Taylor and Hillary Duff because they have too many back catalogue titles and Spotify only lists top 10 streams per artist. But Nate Ruess numbers haven't changed either. Now there is no incentive for Spotify to pay accurately, but hoping that whatever count they report to Billboard is real. Wonder if they freeze release week streams or something to cut down on people checking in every half hour, like I might have done. FYI - Here are the TOH stream numbers that haven't changed: GT 9,095,496 ALN 449,696 EITN 337,968 U 369,282
ETA: If you search "Spotify stream" on Twitter, basically you get a lot of fans of Adam urging people to stream. Wondering if Spotify has decided to do a YT thing and freeze count to verify action. But we ain't no bots. We are real people, really streaming.
I don't know anything about Spotify updates but I do remember last week or week before there was a time when they didn't update for a couple of days so I assume it just happens occasionally. They have freezed before yes, but never this long since GT was available. I've been tracking the numbers on Spotify since the 21st of April. A freeze normally is 1 day and then the next day it updates. The last update we had this week was on Sunday. So no update for at least 2 days already. The charts do update though and I've been updating the streamnumbers from those charts for 3 countries (The Netherlands, Finland and Denmark). They are doing great still. GT hasn't charted anywhere else so I can't check the numbers for the USA for instance. So totals are still unclear right now.

If you want to check stream history, see the growth trend etc you can check out my spreadsheet (the Streams tab) at docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CY93U5HQ3BZ95hupvY_o1GrzTC-dIDvmPPu7AdmJKlU/edit#gid=925003055 I made up for the days they didn't update but you can see the difference from day to day. Wow! So much work. So much dedication. At first glance, my eyes crossed but I have to run right now. I'll check it out when I can concentrate.

HDD Weakly Predictions
(And we know how accurate their predictions are!! )
YOUR NEW RELEASES James Taylor will score his first-ever #1 album on next week’s chart. It’s been 44 years since Taylor reached his peak chart position of #2 with Warner Bros.’ Mud Slide Slim and the Blue Horizon. Here are this week’s key debuts: James Taylor (James Taylor Music) 72-77 sales, 74-79 SPS Adam Lambert (Warner Bros.) 33-38k, 36-41k Hillary Duff (RCA) 25-30k, 30-35k Nate Ruess (Fueled By Ramen) 24-27k, 27-30k Third Eye Blind (Mega Collider) 23-26k, 25-28k Ryn Weaver (Mad Love/Interscope) 14-17k, 16-19k Giorgio Moroder (RCA) 8-9k, 10-11k JT played a private concert for SiriusXM at the storied Apollo Theater on Tuesday night, during which Meyer and Greenstein wept openly at "Sweet Baby James."

Taylor Swift sold 64K albums last week.
Muse sold 84K to get their first #1. (And it's James Taylor's first #1. Didn't realize what an exclusive club to which Adam already belongs.) If Muse have same 73% fall off as Florence & the Machine, that's down to 27K.
Keep streaming.

HDDs album predictions are pretty much 100% accurate! The difference will be who gets # 2, Swift or Adam! Not worried about Flo or Muse! They will drop off! STREAM, BB, STREAM!!

What about Duff? HDD had her as very close to Adam Her fanbase could be streaming. I tried to search Twitter to see if there was any organized effort. But it's impossible because Mrs. Clinton is the only result one gets when searching "Hillary". And fans don't type "Hillary Duff" while trying to unite to stream. (Searched it anyway, nothing really useful. Except she's at a Mall today.) There are no tracks from the new album that rank higher on Spotify than her lowest of 1.4 million. (Spotify shows top ten streams from an artist's catalogue.) But as we know, Spotify isn't updating. We might have a better sense of her stream efforts if Spotify updates tomorrow. It would be easier for Ms. Duff to just go buy 5K albums. But with JT and Taylor in there, not really worth it. Top 5 is good. The plummeting of album sales makes the numbers somewhat ridiculous. If eventually, 40K albums gets you number 1, that can be gamed.
