Mayumi you and your son are courageous and amazing.. It only takes one to walk out ,before others may just do the same thing.. It's
very hard for me to believe in religious institutions that supposidly teach love for all, yet show such bigotry..I wish I had been with
you ,I would have joined you in protest.Hugs to you and enormous respect.

Fair comment about momentum, but I haven't heard anyone saying that they're already tired of GT. I'm certainly not, and I'm convinced the song has a lot more commercial life in it yet. Singles do tend to get chosen quite a bit in advance, though, and since this Hamilton Hollywood fellow (or whatever his name is) is already tweeting that Adam will consider fans' wishes about the next single, it's not surprising that a few of us are excited about the subject Perhaps someone could discreetly ask Adam if he would welcome feedback from fans when it comes time for him and his team to choose the next single...? derekmcg... WHERE ARE YOUUUUUUUUU???? I hope you haven't disappeared cause I really love your posts here on ATOP!!!

Today I did something I thought I would never have the courage to do - walk out of my church during homily. The priest was on a rant about the Supreme Court ruling and used the same old tired arguments why this is so wrong, that gay couples could not raise families and that I cannot be a Catholic if I accept this ruling and that I am living in the dark. Ok then, if I cannot be considered a Catholic then I am out of here. We were seated on the second pew so we were very visible when my son and I walked out. And you know what? I never felt so FREE! I can still believe in my God but not in the confines of this very narrow-minded religion. As a member of a very devout Catholic family, I am sure this will not be acceptable but so be it! I stick to my decision. FREE at last and so happy for my brothers and sisters in the gay community! You have my deepest respect, mayumi. Such a courageous, scary and freeing thing to do.

Not sure why fans (not talking about folks here) but at Q&As keep asking about the next single. Sounds to me like GT needs to keep working its way up the Hot 100. Fans have the album so can listen to the other songs whenever they want. Why ask for a new single already? Really great Marquee performance. GT sounds great in a club. I think the interviewer or the radio station director choose a lot of the questions or write them. THEY are interested in the next single, or think it is an original question. I cannot imagine any Glambert who doesn't know Adam's answer by now.

The Episcopal Church around the corner from me on Peachtree Road is a huge gay supporter. Read the first sentence of this wiki. Also, you'll see down in the article that the United Methodist Church and others host this same choir. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlanta_Gay_Men's_Chorus ETA: Not sure why that link is so wacky. Just copy and paste it.

It takes courage to stand up for what we believe in. Very proud of you.

Thanks for your kind words. I am sure there will be a little bit of backlash from the most conservative members of my family but I hope they love me enough to respect my decision. My brother did the same things years ago and everyone has forgotten.
Thanks to ADAM for setting such a great example.
Pattihum, yes, got your PM and am playing. Hope to get tickets but I still need about 5000 points. Cannot do it today because of a family gathering. My SIL will probably say something because she was at church and saw us leave. Oh well. . . .

As another Catholic who believes we are ALL equally entitled to the freedoms we enjoy, I applaud you for taking your convictions and leaving that service. I wonder how many others watched you and your son walk out and wished they had the courage to do the same! I'm pretty much alone here in my Adam World and my Equality For All stance, but that's OK. It's not gonna change my views on either! On FB, it seems most of my friends share my view on the recent ruling (still working on the Adam campaign....got one friend to buy TOH, her first AFL purchase!) I see rainbows on their AVI's....only one person so far is posting the opposing rants. I responded by posting a photo I found of a man holding up a sign: "Claiming that someone's marriage is against your religion is like being angry at someone eating a donut because YOU are on a diet!"

NO NO NO.....to EITN as next single.....YES YES YES to TOH !!!!! Maybe when he gets out of NYC and all those bombs over Broadway and gets back to summertime in Hollywood he'll come to his senses. I am glad that all the songs on TOH are obviously ones that Adam loves and so I need not be concerned that a lesser tune is being pushed on him but the next single should begin with: I feel the need for speed and on a hot night, Pushin' a hundred and fifty ...Just think what it would do for municipal revenues in small towns in Texas. :D HA!! This made me laugh so hard! remembering 120 and cop got me at 90.. (let me go 8-)) Mustang baby MY Mustang
