OY Vey and Ouch in whose world would those words be considered a slam...unbelievable and very annoying how the press goes after Adam ,but not Kanye for being a total narcissist. Who else would have the nerve to look and sound sooo bad yet think he's divine and faultless but Kanye.. What's the world coming to

This I think could be great exposure to those who were clueless about QAL or who just never heard Adam singing with Queen. It is from NYE where he looks so gorgeous and sounds divine. The juxtaposition painfully (for Kanye) makes its point. i don't love the title but if it gets people listening to Adam sounding so yummy, might be good in the long run |

Yes thank you so much Q3 this helps so much to better understand how all the crazy radio plays work. Z100 posted they think GT could be his biggest hit yet...so that means even bigger then WWFM, & that was a Grammy nomination so very very exciting!! Just one question again curious how it works; if another single comes out in 4-6 wks that would hurt GT's plays, why can't they just play both? I thought some artists had 2 songs being in top 40 at the sametime, like Sam Smith, Taylor Swift, granted he's not @ Taylor's level & not quite at SS's either, so not sure how that works. If they played GT 2x's a day they couldn't also play the new one too. Just thinking of maximum AirPlay getting his name out there. Maybe not true or fair to say but, I think the younger ppl like GT more, I like it but not my top 4 of the album. I think there could be some that would LOVE "TOH" that only "liked" GT but hearing "TOH" might prompt them to purchase the album. Would love to understand timing of 2nd single more. I apologize if you have already discussed & I missed it somehow. You have such a wealth of info. This is why I love this place. Thanks again. Wouldn't expect a new single out before the end of August, at the earliest. Then it might go to Top 40 first with a hold off on HAC. I think GT is going to go very high on HAC! HAC moves VERY slowly! Every spin of a song takes away spins from another song, no matter who the artist is. There are only so many hours in a day. Radio charts in the US are determined solely on numbers of spins. If a new single were introduced, the old single would most likely have drastically reduced spins. Having a song on the Top 40 for 20 weeks is a very, very good thing, not a bad thing!  I do agree, though, that TOH is the signature song of the album. I think the 2nd single will definitely come before end of Sept. |

Adam Lambert Slams Kanye West's 'Bohemian Rhapsody' Cover
Adam Lambert was not a fan of Kanye West’s cover of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” at the Glastonbury Festival in England on Saturday. The former “American Idol” star took to Twitter on Monday to slam West’s performance of the classic Queen song (video below). “OYE VEY Kanye,” tweeted Lambert, adding, “That Bohemian Rhapsody at Glastonbury though… Ouch.” Lambert, who toured last year with Queen’s surviving members Brian May and Roger Taylor, routinely nailed it when singing the late Freddie Mercury’s lead vocals on “Bohemian Rhapsody.” West, however, struggled on Saturday to hit the high notes, instead letting the audience sing-along on certain parts. The “Yeezus” rapper also forgot some of the words to the song, which fans quickly pointed out.

He and Lynne Broyles, his music teacher, appear to have been really close. I remember seeing her interviewed in the documentary from GNT and you could tell how close they were when she teared up talking about him. He mentioned her again in an interview from yesterday or the day before...something about it being her birthday and her influence on him. There's been so many interviews...I can't remember which one it was. There can develop an incredible bond between music students and their private lesson teachers. I felt it with my college violin teacher, and now I'm the teacher. It's lovely. A good music teacher opens up a magical world for students. There is something deeply moving, almost primal, about making your own music: piano, violin, flute, guitar... and most of all for me, the voice. Listening to good music is a highly emotional experience. But making the music yourself, with your own hands, your own body, your own breath is profound. The teacher who shows you how to do that skillfully and artistically gives you a lasting gift. To work together to produce this special musical magic is also very deeply personal. A talented, sensitive teacher taps into a student's deepest feelings which are often released while striving for musical perfection. You know how an expert massage therapist can pull out emotions and stresses from deep within your body? Or a mental health therapist can pull out emotions and stresses from your mind? How cathartic and immense it can feel? That can happen in the relationship between a great music teacher and a committed student. I am very grateful to Lynne Broyles for being the kind of teacher Adam desperately needed in his adolescence and helping him find his voice musically and spiritually. |
