Interesting.....James Durbin info: OT, I know.... : www.santacruzsentinel.com/localnews/ci_18058266“Idol” agreed for the first time in its history to allow an exception and to sponsor an eliminated competitor for a homecoming concert." AI isn't giving up on this one...... As Chunkey would say, "What fuckery is this??!!!" :

Well isn't that interesting. They'll give up when he doesn't sell of bunch of records for them. So they're letting him have a homecoming but it won't be televised? I guess they are counting this a promo for his new album. But it would be Idol that pays for the homecoming; the travel & accomodations, security, motorcades. Sounds like a wash to me. I live in the Santa Cruz area, where JD is from. From what I can tell from the various stories in the local press (don't know JD or anyone who does know him) The local beach/boardwalk planned a big to-do with him singing on their beach stage accompanied by a popular group (older guys, not metal, play Beatles covers) that he sang with now and again, and a visit to a children's theater group in which he performed frequently as a child, and a bit of a parade through town. (Not in that order.) Anyway, Big disappointment when he didn't make the final 3 and many, many local people and businesses wanted to go ahead and have the celebration. First they had to get AI to let him go home in time for the celebration. (I guess if you are voted off at this point there are some reasons why you have to stay a few days.) A lot of the costs are minimal (visit with theater group to speak with young kids there - I know, does that sound familiar or what???) or covered - at least mostly - by local businesses. Getting a bunch of people to come to the beach stage= sales of food and drink... So I think AI didn't have to put a lot of money into it and it wasn't their idea. Does "won't be shown" on the show = "won't be filmed"? That would make sense. Local TV may film it. Perhaps AI is paying for flight from LA??? Oh, and on that Zoiks article, what is said about Adam is not bad this time. Perhaps written by different person than before? (I didn't remember previous stuff and clicked...)

I'm sorry I gave them my click. here's what they said I haven’t really been watching this season of “American Idol,” which is weird being that I’m a huge Aerosmith fan. I did however see this one audition for this kid James Durbin and immediately thought this is the guy that can bring “American Idol” back. He’s got Adam Lambert’s vocal range, he has a better tone in his voice than Lambert and he’s got a better back story than Lambert, he has Tourettes & Aspergers syndromes. When Adam Lambert was on the show they labeled him the rocker, but in reality he’s not a rocker. Lambert was edgy for Idol, but he did his best when he wasn’t singing rock n roll. When he performed “Whole Lotta Love” by Led Zeppelin it wasn’t his best performance, he did fine, but it was no “Mad World.” Sorry, what is this guy on????

LOL I love this. They managed to find the perfect Adam picture, I can practically hear him think "BITCH PLEASE" My sentiments exactly.... Though it's pretty funny how the a picture can take on different meaning depending on context. I'm pretty sure Adam wasn't thinking that when posing on the red carpet. Then again.....those photographers can get pretty annoying :

I wonder how far the plans had progressed for Haley's home town visit when they thought they were sabotaging her. The judges, the whole Idol show, is in denial and it is making me laugh. It's like catching your kid with chocolate all over his face as he tells you he didn't eat the candy. AI will deny to the end their agenda, but me thinks they have been outed and they don't quite know how to react. Surely they have read the critiques, the opinions of other credible people on the quality of their judging and their lack of integrity. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
