theosgma, thank you for explaining what "audience impression" means -- I never understood that before. Good news all around for GT! Hopefully it will start soaring now. It is a very simplified explanation! Others on this list who are much more sophisticated (I am a numbers novice) can explain more fully. You multiply the number by a million for the reach of the song so the higher the number, the larger the audience reached. The numbers thread is the place to go for details. I just wanted to give that highlight because it seems like this song is still on the move and all this publicity is having its impact. There will be more news at the end of today with respect to adds so stay tuned. "Simplified" explanations work very well for me!

This! It frustrates me too. Pet peeve is when people who weren't there say something "didn't work! " Unless one has the perspective of the entire stage and audience, then they really don't know! Patti, I am sure we all know it's not the same. There is no way to duplicate the full effect of being at Adam's concert - there is so much ENERGY in the air around him. We are so fortunate to have an opportunity to get the recordings and have at least some idea of the performances. Wether we want it or not - we form an opinion on what we experience via those recordings. Having the recaps from the lucky attendees is like adding another dimension! SO, BRING ON THOSE RECAPS! Help us all! Well said, Nica! ITA that there is no way videos can capture the energy and the excitement of the moment -- but they are the next best thing to actually being there. And I love reading the recaps and gaining a sense of the personal experiences of the people who were lucky enough to attend.

Thanks for a great recap Q3 - I was waiting to hear how Wicked Games really sounded. I hope he keeps it in his program it works so well with After Hours. It's also great to learn that this performance ranked as a favorite. I think this album is sooooo putting his "sound" in a new and interesting direction. His fourth album will probably be totally different but, for now, I'm enjoying this "era" so much. I agree with you on WWFM - it's like Mad World - enough already! I'm trying to think of a great encore number for him - hmmmmmmmm.

iichy, thanks SO much for posting this version of There I Said It.
This is rapidly becoming my very favorite.
You say you want the truth but you can't take it, so I give you lies, I give you lies. You say you want the best but you destroy it, so I keep it inside, I keep it inside.
Man, I have been on both sides of that proposition. So admire Adam for his consistent approach to truth and revealing oneself in relationships. Been a problem for me all my life, learning so late how important it is, and what a real revealed relationship feels like. Definitely not the credo I was raised with, so hard to fight your way through what was instilled when you were a child.
Plus the beginning, in that deep, unearthly resonant voice? Unbelievable. Like it is coming from the primeval depths of the earth. Must have been utterly mesmerizing live. And then building to those magnificent high notes? Heaven.
This masterful artist keeps reminding me that the reason he drew me like a magnet was that precious instrument. His voice is, is...well, we have said it all, haven't we? I have run out of superlatives and emotive words to describe it's effect on me. Even songs I don't relate to as well, as he said, it is his voice at the center. And that is more than enough for me.
And I want to add my thanks to the others for the recappers. We are so lucky that even at the moment when they are experiencing Adam, they have room for thoughts about those of us who wait. It means so much to hear the impressions and details and real life experience. You are all much appreciated, every time. And the same goes for the videographers. The combination allows us to get some sense of the actual event. Thanks so much.
I totally know what they mean when they say how differently something transfers to video. I have said this before, but one of my treasured memories is Costa Mesa, in an outdoor ampitheatre, with the moon rising behind the audience and Adam's voice soaring out into the night air. And I mean soaring, I don't know how the immensity of that could have been captured on video. Not to be too effusive, but it was just plain soul stirring magic.

I'm trying to think of a great encore number for him - hmmmmmmmm. You know the wheels are turning in his pretty head visualizing a Tour. I guess he's gonna feel like he needs IIHY and WWFM in there somewhere....maybe he can work them into the body of the setlist. Don't know where he can interject some camp fun into the setlist....maybe the encore can be OTT fun...not sure, but it would be a "damn shame" if Shame or even These Boys aren't performed. He could be so silly during Shame. I remember how much I looked forward to him performing Kickin In in 2012...so much dancy fun. It may be he will think they don't fit the overall mood....we'll just have to see. I'm sure he'll come up with things we never imagined. I can definitely see him starting the show with OOL into GT. That was awesome! While we wait on our hopes for 2016, it'll be interesting to watch him develop the songs live....next up in Australia and NZ. I know the concert in Australia sounds like it could be similar to Morongo, is the NZ one the same? Please, please somebody downunder take vids. Do we think maybe he'll do a few more things while there? And do we think that he'll probably extend this promo leg west and then up to Japan? I NEED to see him singing TOH tunes live before the end of the year. (My Jan QAL adventure doesn't count...lol) If nothing else, fingers crossed for NYE somewhere here in the US. (even Thackerville will be fine)

Q3, thanks so much for the wonderful recap! It was really interesting to read about the people who were there and their own Adam experiences. Since a lot of the people who attended the concert were singing along, I'm thinking they already have their own copies of TOH. And I'm betting the couple you spoke to weren't the only ones buying a copy afterwards! I still love WWFM -- I'll never get tired of that song -- but ITA that he needs to do something else for an encore -- or, maybe make it a two-song encore with WWFM as the lead-in to something faster paced and high impact. Not sure what, but he and his team will work something out. For a casino show with a ton of comped tickets, and radio contest winners, and lots of fans who never attended an Adam concert before, it was amazing how many people were singing along -- I think it was most of the audience on some songs. Also I talked to the cutest, nerdy gay couple (looked like they met in the High School AV club) who knew everything about him and every song. Made all of us look like casual fans -- and it was their first Adam concert. Too cute. *** I know they will work it out. And when there is a longer setlist, I bet he goes to a two-song encore. The Shady-Trespassing-The Dust section fit is really well -- particularly with the adjustments they made to harmonize the sound. I think it would have worked better is IIHY was the encore with something from TOH and WWFM was moved up on the setlist. In any case, he was so good that this is just me being me. *** One additional though I left out -- he sounded the best I have ever heard him vocally. This was not some special, one time, in the moment great performance. It was how he sounds now, how he sings now, how he looks now -- and he has just gotten that much better. I swear the best is yet to come. I so wish I could go to AU, New Zealand or QAL South America -- if only I won the lottery!!

The Backlot @thebacklot System Overload! @adamlambert And @chriscolfer On “The Talk” Too.Much.Fabulous logo.to/1Dskov8System Overload! Adam Lambert And Chris Colfer On “The Talk” by snicks | July 21, 2015 Can’t. Process. Too. Much. Fabulous. System shorting out. Adam Lambert and Chris Colfer reunited for the first time since Glee, both appearing on yesterday’s episode of the CBS gabfest The Talk, and were as charming as you’d expect. First up was Chris discussing his new book The Land of Stories: Beyond the Kingdoms. “The best thing is when a little girl or a little boy comes up to you and says, ‘These books make me want to read.'” On meeting J.K. Rowling for the first time: “I was more excited meeting her than President Obama.” Adam was on next, and talks about gelling with Queen, and The Original High: “It’s a bit different than what I have done in the past. I think it’s a bit more grounded. It’s more introspective. It’s not quite as over the top and theatrical as some of my other stuff. It’s still me singing my heart out – but I think there is more nuance, there’s more dynamics… There’s something for everybody on there.” And he performed Ghost Town. After the show, both guys took questions from fans! (Link to videos)
