Can we tell what exactly led to the sudden rise? So happy to see it rising up again! (Might have impact on BB100) No I cannot explain it -- just observing that it started to make the move in the run-up to the Apple event. GT is now at #47 on iTunes -- and sales are still increasing. We will see what happens as the day goes on. GT was hanging in the high 80's and 90's mostly from the radio airplay. And the cumulative airplay for a song will increase familiarity making a purchase more likely. So it was primed to move. The song appeals to people who would never consider buying an "Adam Lambert" song -- most people need to hear it or hear about it before they buy it. ETA: Moved up to #46 while I was writing this post! What I noticed here in the Netherlands is that people need to hear it a few times before they like it. It's definitely a grower and that will mean it needs a sufficient amount of spins and then also knowing what and who it is to make the purchase. GT on the hot list in iTunes probably also reminds people that they heard it, liked it and then go for the purchase.

I gather from twitter that it got there the morning of the Apple event and it hasn't moved out. From what I've been able to deduce, it's a curated list so human decision to put him on there. Front page equals sales.

I guess you've missed my posts about this, about the same time as the Apple event GT was added to the Hot Tracks section on the main page of iTunes. Yes, I saw it and I also saw your post. And I started tracking 6 other listed songs. But these other tracks added to Hot Tracks on iTunes do not move up like GT did. Here are the first six and current US iTunes position: #156 Set Me Free #128 Hold Each Other #79 Disarm You (basically where it was before it was listed - pop bars are actually slightly down since it was listed) #125 Immortalized Not in top 200 - Too Bad, So Sad Not in top 200 - It Keeps On Raining That could be what did it but why did GT move and not the other songs. And this is a big, sustained move.

I know I am in minority but he looks tortured to me...I found that whole shoot to be massively uncomfortable for him...my least favorite so far... If Adam wants to be an actor, he needs to become comfortable doing this and we need to become comfortable watching. It appears to me sometimes as I read articles in the press, that the public is more comfortable with all kinds of binary sexuality than it is with a more fluid presentation. I am not sure why.

Quoting from Pattihum....because she won't mind... In reference to the charting/playing and growing popularity of GT worldwide Pat H @pattihum 3m3 minutes ago @sandyzzzen @14gelly The list of countries just amazes me! International Pop Star! ️ Appears to me...a feeling.... that GT has been like a plane going down the runway...a long runway with plenty of runway in front of it...and it's gradually getting lift and it feels like now it's got enough air under it's wings that it's starting to lift off the ground. How high the GT plane will fly and for what distance is unknown.....but I feel like the plane is in the air. Do y'all feel that way? I've never felt that way about an Adam tune before, especially on an international level.....very exciting! I feel exactly the same way. I go around with this bubble of anticipation in my gut and the wonder of a child watching for the first time a plane lift off the runway knowing it is cleanly off the ground and into the wild blue yonder.
