Adam Lambert sat down for a radio interview with Australia’s “Fletch, Vaughan & Megan” where he dished on getting kicked out of a Gaga party (“I think I was encouraged to go home and get some sleep”), boyfriends and whether or not he’s active on dating apps.

Asked if he had a boyfriend, Lambert had this to say:

No. Part of me thinks it would be nice but then also it’s like, I have my fun. And I’m traveling so much, it would be difficult to be in a solid relationship.

“With a pulse is good,” Lambert replied when asked about the kind of guy he looks for. “Breathing. Nice smile. Likes music.”

And for the big question: Does Lambert use dating apps?

I’ve glanced on there before. I don’t have anything bad to say about it because I actually have friends that have met on these apps and are in great relationships, so I think whatever works, but I have a hard time connecting with someone based on a photo.

Here is my recap of Auckland concert:

Well after the massive stress of getting tickets for myself and all my friends, iheart radio really came through in a big way. There ended up being tickets aplenty and everyone who wanted them got them! Huge relief!

I had the day of the concert off work, so I headed into the city to see Adam hopefully leave the radio studios. We didn’t, but another friend had arrived before he did, and as she was the only one there, he talked to her for a few minutes and she got a photo! So lucky!

We did see his car drive out, but he snuck out the back door – by this time a large group had gathered and I’m sure he had other places to go, so no time to stop.

So it was time to get to the venue and meet others and start the day queuing up. As no seats were allocated, we obviously wanted to be at the front of the queue for prime seats! At about 9.30am about 18 of us (all from the NZ Glitter Tribe as we’re known) were there, and iheart radio, again, were amazing. They came out and spoke to us – realised we were serious fans and desperate to see Adam up close, so they handed out yellow wrist bands to us and told us to come to the side door for early entry. They would let us in before the main doors opened!!! FRONT ROW GUARANTEED!!! Amazing!!!

(Prior to this happening, I had planned to sit in the front row of the balcony and video the concert. All those plans went out the window once this happened! Was too good a chance to pass up. And fortunately my friend’s husband videoed the entire concert, so I don’t feel so bad about it!)

Unfortunately there were quite a few disappointed fans who arrived later, and no amount of begging could persuade them to hand out any more wrist bands. However these fans were at the front of the queue and ended up in the 2nd and 3rd row which was still super close, so it all worked out great!!!

6.00pm and sure enough, we were let in early. I could not believe how CLOSE the front row of seats was! We were actually leaning up against the stage! It was also quite a low stage, low enough to climb up on….. heehee. So the front few rows were filled with Adam’s biggest fans – of all ages. It was perfect!

The DJ from The Hits came on to introduce Adam and gave the GlitterTribe a shout out which was exciting!

Then … ADAM.

He walked onto the stage with such a huge cheer and to see him smile as a result was so heart-warming. He was there. So close. I have been fortunate to see Adam from the front row a few other times, but this was the closest. You could touch him. I didn’t, (wish I had!) but other friends further along got a great feel of his leg when he put it up onto a speaker in front of them! He liked it!!! He said so the following day when one of these friends got to talk to him on the radio! :D

These songs are just brilliant live. Even moreso than I expected – how does he do that? Keep surpassing already insanely high expectations??? That voice, his moves, his eyes, his sexiness, all just beyond description. Every song, every note was just amazing. There really are insufficient words to describe. Unfortunately being so close had its downside, in that the sound wasn’t perfect – at times his voice was lost in the music a bit, but he still sounded incredible.

The audience loved the show. He seemed so happy and excited to be performing his new music. Not a huge amount of banter, but enough, and some fun interaction with some of my friends – I made eye contact countless times…. It really was a mind-blowing experience!

The friends I’ve made through this fandom are so wonderful, and this was the first time we were all together for one of his concerts – most of us have met each other since 2010 GN and although we were at QAL we were spread out throughout the venue. So that made it extra special to share this amazing concert together as a big group!

This was my 12th time seeing him live. I’ve been lucky. For some it was their first time seeing him perform his own music. And now we have January show to look forward to! IF we survive ticket-buying stress that is!!!

Just an update on our local charts here. Toh rises from #37 to #19 On Top 40 Albums Chart. This before the rise on itunes. Now 9 weeks on the chart. Gt currently #12 overall, so finally gaining traction hopefully radio starts playing it.
