We are so lucky to have videos of almost every Adam live performance in the past six years. I cherish them. I also sometimes cringe to see folks standing five feet from him and looking at their phone screen instead of at him, pouring his heart out to the audience. How can he interact with the audience if they don't even look at him? I am reminded of the time I went on a whale-watching boat excursion. We came across a mama humpback with her calf, and I was trying to capture the moment with my camera. Suddenly I stopped and thought, "How stupid. Here is this once in a lifetime event happening in the sea in front of me, and I am not experiencing it. I am trying to snap a frickin' picture! Watch the breathtaking scene and buy a bloody postcard when you get back to the gift shop!!!!" Not meant as a criticism. As I said to start with, I LOVE being able to see the performances on video! But, just a thought. Benjamin Cumberbatch, starring in a stage production of Hamlet, recently commented on the distraction of all the cameras filming while he was trying to do the soliloquy. Food for thought. www.buzzfeed.com/elliewoodward/benedict-cumberbatch-has-begged-fans-to-stop-filming-him-dur?utm_term=.jhzX7DYnn6#.rbe7jeDyJ7

Adam never dumbs himself down. He has a good vocabulary and he uses it. It's one of my favorite things about him. I like a guy who isn't afraid to be smart. I also kind of admired him to shooting down doing the "gay-dar" game. It is a tired game and doesn't really prove anything. I know Adam has done it before on some shows. Like what he said about "straight-dar." I know he ruined their "game" plan but he also made a good point. They seemed ok with it. This was a good interview. Not a lot about the new music, but I did like how the guy made a point of noticing how much Adam's fans connect with him has a person and not just as a singer. He has really touched the hearts and souls of millions world-wide. I love watching how Adam has evolved as a guest on TV and radio. He really has much more control over how the interviews go. He has a lot more to say and more experiences to share. He's a class act. This round of interviews has been, as usual, interesting. By now, we fans know the answers to just about every possible question, but I have to keep in mind, that for most of the listeners, this is their first exposure to AFL. What fascinates me this time around is how Adam handles himself and the interview. He's always been a good subject of the interview, but now he is a master. Particularly telling was his answer about charm being important. From all accounts, Adam is naturally charming, down-to-earth, and a nice guy. This answer tells me that, while it is natural, it is also carefully cultivated; he knows it is as important an asset as his remarkable singing voice, perhaps more. Before people can hear him sing, they first have to know about him via publicity and media, and WANT to listen. By being consistently charming, approachable and nice, he insures the good will of the interviewers and the media people behind the scenes. Which leads to more interviews, more exposure, and positive comments. He charms not only the folks on set, but the people listening, who are more likely to click on a video of a performance, or even google him.
Adam has grown into an entertaining storyteller, taking after his father and brother. He has amassed stories for many of the frequently asked questions, and can respond quickly and confidently. He has observed what works and incorporates that in future interviews. It is impressive, but, when I think about it, it is just an extension of his performance experience and ability. We have seen him doing the same thing onstage: trying a new riff, a new segue, a new patter with the audience, a new move, a new interaction with the band. If it goes over well, we see it repeated.
Adam has impressive verbal skills. I think of his parents saying he was very talkative from a very early age. Plus, they provided him with a rich language environment to enhance his vocabulary and conversation style.
Adam also has impressive social intelligence. Ironically, this is probably in part due to his childhood experiences being an outcast, being a "weird kid." He wanted to be accepted, he wanted to have friends, so he needed to observe, study and practice people skills to overcome his status as an "undesirable." He needed to learn how to identify ways to charm others and make himself an asset; how to get along with everyone. He has cultivated an impressive patience with the process, including all the stoooopid games the media thinks will entertain their audience. More recently, Adam has learned how to control interviews and avoid the worst of the inappropriate questions and comments thrown his way. He can shut them down with a word or two, a smile and a chuckle that has just that hint of steel "don't even think about going there" behind it.
As much as I have thrilled to hear him mature as a vocalist over the last six years, I have also thoroughly enjoyed seeing him mature as a celebrity and a media personality. What a great way to say exactly what I 've been seeing and feeling. AFL is no one's fool and he can control an interview to go exactly where he wants it to go all the while flashing that captivating million dollar smile! I don't worry about Adam holding his own and them some in interviews.

I think it was <5% of the audience who had phones up at Moronga -- enough so we got tons of video but not too distracting. >> I don't remember which concert it was but believe during Trespassing Tour he said something about it from the stage. Does anyone remember?

Interesting that Adam listed Citizen Vein and the link to his MySpace music page.

Unless WB Promo has some trick up their sleeves, I think "Ghost Town" is close to peak on the Pop radio chart.
26 24 ADAM LAMBERT Ghost Town 3443 3247 196 13.216 -11 Spins -92 Bullet -0.023 AI
It will take a couple more weeks to peak and then start to drop.
So looks like late September-October for a follow-up single in the US.

So looks like late September-October for a follow-up single in the US. It will be #23 on Sunday & has the potential for a few more spots. It could make 20 in a few weeks, it could also just miss it! Last Tuesday was a big day, for GT, which is why the negatives today. So just those numbers don't tell the full story! (Tomorrow won't be good either, then Thursday will!) Since other countries are possibly ready for single #2, I'd say, Sept is a good bet.
