It certainly was a disappointing update. The wrong time to lose spins but hey. Everyone else did as well.
I am not in the same camp though. I still see a way clear with a lot of luck and fans banging on the radio stations for one more week. A lot of it depends on the duration of the radio deals. Not convinced all those new songs will pass GT if it can recover spins but not sure that will happen with all the new songs the radios have to play but established artists.
Not sure why GT would be at 24 tomorrow. Both Wiz and 5th Harmony go recurrent and I don't think anything will pass GT by tonight. I sure as hell hope not!
What I think WILL happen is the dropping songs will drop faster. Bad Blood will be out of the top 10 but unfortunately not eligible to go recurrent yet so it has to drop like a rock to be any help at all. Silento and Tori can well drop below GT and odds are the TS at least will pass GT. Little Mix is not going to pass and the buzz is that the Macklemore song ain't so hot so I am not totally convinced that will pass. I was worried about Nick Jonas but that actually was down a little. Might not continue like that but it was. So the other one is JB. If what Patti says is true and radio might be cautious, we will see. So GT could maintain 23 this weekend, stay at 23 or at best go to 22 Labor Day weekend and then there is the chance it could go to 25 if all three (TS, JB and Macklemore) pass it providing the other two (Silento and Tori) drop below GT.
This is really our last chance for a GT push. Over after that.
BUT what I do think is most of the songs that have beaten GT to the top 20 and better will be soon forgotten - trivial and formulaic. But GT has a chance to be a song that will have a place for a long long time. It's fresh and kind of timeless.

Yes, theosgma, GT will be #23 tomorrrow. 2 recurrents! Agree about JB maintaining his spins. Not sure it will happen. It is not a great song. Macklemore already is losing spins. Now that song is crap!! I really like the Little Mix song but they seem to not be maintaining there initial surge either.

"it's not a great song" - do you really think it matters? it could get a 2500 increase for all I know... trying to manage my expectations here. : I agree SIlento and Tory will drop at some point soonish, but by then TS and new Macklemore will pass... in other words I still see no way up...and, boy, do I want to be wrong!

I don't think Macklemore's song is going to go anywhere.

I think the Netherlands might be ready for the next single. Chart updates from the Netherlands: NL Top 40: #8 (from #8) Mega Top 50: #11 (from #10) Single Top 100: #12 (from #11) iTunes Top 30: #9 (from #8) SlamFM 40: #29 (from #26) Global Dance Chart: #19 (from #17) GT held position mostly in Airplay and Streaming, but dropped a bit in iTunes. Hence the hold in the Top 40, but the drops in the other charts (which do incorporate downloads). Airplay even increased some I think this week. I really need to thank Radio 538 sometime for doing such a good job in supporting GT. They are spinning heavily for almost 2 months now. This week a total of 42 streams and it's now on 6 spins on average per day (highest ever). They get the occasionally tweet that people are getting a bit tired of GT being played that much (they think that 4 times a day for weeks already hearing the song is a bit much). I still don't get tired of hearing it though and I've heard it A LOT. Skyradio had their special this week and only played GT during the week once. Hope they pick up again the coming week. They are boosting GT in iTunes every time they play.
