Dang! I thought I was able to purchase the Fault Mag but I can't find a receipt for it among all my other mag receipts. I sure thought I was able to get it. I've gotten so many Adam mags lately that I can't remember! I thought I got it from Magazine Cafe but I don't see any receipt. Did anyone get Fault through Magazine Cafe? Legendary guitarist Brian May with Adam Lambert and drummer Roger Taylor
Queen will "very nostalgic" concert with allusions to Freddy Mercury
Rio de Janeiro, Sept. 9 (EFE) .- Thirty years after his historic performance in the first edition of Rock in Rio in 1985, today announced that Queen concert in the new edition of the festival in Rio de Janeiro next week , will be "very nostalgic" and will feature references to the late Freddie Mercury.
"You'll see Freddie, not much, but it is important that he is present and he started this with us," he said at a press conference in Rio de Janeiro guitarist Brian May, referring to the legendary singer who led the band until his death on 24 November 1991. This group gave the world some of the most famous rock tunes in recent decades and the US singer Adam Lambert presented at the press conference that the concert on 18 September offered in the new edition of the festival.
Both May and drummer Roger Taylor, who after the withdrawal of bassist John Deacon scenarios are the only two remaining components of the original lineup, they reminisced fondly passing through the festival thirty years.
"We were surprised how everyone knew the lyrics," May, who recalled how at that time was not unusual for European groups to travel to Latin America because of the difficulty of transporting light and sound equipment said.
In fact, in this 1985 edition, the British band lent their equipment to the festival organization for other groups to use in their performances, May said. For his part, the young Lambert, who joked about having just " three years "when the legendary concert took place, showed their enthusiasm to present themselves" one of the best audiences in the world ".
May described how Lambert, who after themselves known on the television show American Idol, where he also met his current two companions, was integrated to the band "gradually." Guitarist praised the new vocalist, who stressed his "confidence "to face the" challenge "to take the witness of one of the most charismatic singers in rock history.
"I'm not intimidated as three years ago," said Lambert, referring to his first concerts with Queen, before saying he was "well" at the thought of acting before the audience of tens of thousands of people who attend the call City of Rock in Rio de Janeiro to enjoy the festival. Regarding the inevitable comparison with Freddie Mercury, Lambert admitted not being able to play the piano and write songs as its predecessor. "I wish I could do that," he confessed the singer.
However, May does see two points in common between the two singers who considered key "both share a wonderful voice and that connection with the audience." Questioned about how the passage of time can affect its performance against a predominantly young audience, Taylor joked that both May and he have "lucky to keep playing."
More seriously, May wanted to make clear that they are not "fossil" and is confident that they are better musicians than thirty years ago and that "Freddie to say that." "The younger audience may not recognize us as individuals but knows our songs, "Taylor said.
May concluded that although "it is difficult to meet all the expectations", the concert offered in the Marvelous City will be "very nostalgic" and they hope to offer a great show because things are taken "very seriously".
