Just have to embed this one, because... I've been out for the day and am just now catching up. I'm sorry I missed the twitter party. I love the lyric he tweeted, and his response about how he has to work every day to believe in himself but that being in love and being creative are helping are helping him. Now that I know that he'll be at the finale, I'm going to have to watch the darn thing. My fingers are crossed that they might have him sing. Maybe with Haley? And those new pictures with Sauli? Oh, dear god, I have to steal a line from Spring 2009- How do those two ever leave the house? Well, that's why the prominent cheekbones, obvious weight loss due to vigorous activity

Now I am utterly confused. [grin] I totally understand your technical curiosity, but it doesn't seem to be anything as simple as an allele pair. Ergo, its not like you can do some sort of Mendelian calculation to figure out the probability of straight parents producing gay kids or vice versa. Gayness doesn't pattern like a traceable recessive gene. Sorry to hear about your house situation. How frustrating! {{HUGS}} Best answer yet, and I even understoood allele pairing.

I was also trying to come up with an analogy for the Kinsey orientation range using the gene that causes red pigmentation in hair and how it causes shading from strawberry blond to auburn, but I'm blanking on the gene name and managed to confuse even myself with my so-called "explanation". Need to work on it some more before I attempt to post.

Gelly, aurora what are we doing here this time...? It's 3.15 AM for us, LOL. Wondering if this party is over now...? Welcome to the sleep deprived life of being an Adam Lambert fan. Learning to pace your self and letting some things go(like housework) are an acquired skill. ??? My early fandom days were spent listening parties/Chat AI8 concert on Gossip Candy. We would listen to REALLY bad cell casts of Adam's section and follow tweets from those at the concert. We would flail and wait for good video and pictures. I can not tell you how many nights I was still up at 5 AM only to have to be up at 6:30. My poor husband thought I was ill because I was always tired. He even looked up information on vitamins. LOL - and here I am - up and going - again *thumbs up*. By nature I'm a "quick sleeper", so my batteries are already charged with 3.5 hours of sleep. Not quite enough though for regular use, I might need an hour's nap today... and a biiiig mug of coffee. But - thank god it is Sunday and not a work day. I'd have to had been strong and quit the party otherwise - traptured or not.

Well, I'm Gay - raised by 2 straight parents (with the help of 3 Straight Grandparents), I have 2 straight brothers, with 7 nieces & nephews, 6 that I know are straight & my youngest little guy - not sure, but too soon to say, (it's his decision to come out, if that's the case). Each of my parents have sisters - each have sons & daughters (my cousins) who are straight & have children of their own - they're still young so the verdict's not in on that yet! Soooo........... what do you think?! That's about all I can say about the genetics in my family & me being Gay! It just happens - no rhyme nor reason! I'm just lucky I guess! Good genes!! ;D ;D My question to you- do you have kids? If so straight or gay? Not trying to be a jerk, just trying to understand. No! No kids of my own! But if straight people make Gay people - isn't it possible that Gay people could make straight people! After all, everybody comes from a union of egg & sperm! I don't think there are "Gay" eggs or "Gay" sperm! :-/

I can't speak to the science, but my anecdotal sense is that orientation is a lot more complicated than just DNA.
