OH, I've been there and took a picture of her too! Makes me feel kind of connected with Adam. I spent 3 weeks in Buenos Aires and had an amazing time -- such great people! It was in 2007 so a while ago. I would love to go back. Why aren't we there??? Right now I so wish I did not have to work! I do hope that Q+AL make some plans for 2016 but mostly I think Adam will be doing his solo tour. {mixed emotions!} I really want my cake and want to eat it too! |

This is so beautiful and creepy. She is so realistic, just stepping into her crypt. Yes, it does look that way. I have a thing for cemeteries too..haven't seen many overseas but I'll never forget New Orleans. Took so many photos that day. Adam has a love of period architecture and sculpture, it seems. Adam and Sauli both look so solemn..  La Recoleta Cemetery is very different than New Orleans. The New Orleans cemeteries, particularly St. Louis #1, have a much more otherworldly feel -- somewhat dark -- definitely haunted. Cemetery Recoleta is elegant, grand and stately, it feels like Paris. It is so beautiful and some of the vaults are large enough to be homes. But it feels empty. Recoleta is where the most important people in Argentine history are buried -- most famous person interred there is Eva Peron. But there are some many notable people there:  It is like a city of the dead.  New Orleans cemeteries have much small crypts -- and many are in disrepair. Some other parts have been restored...  **** I found that La Recoleta Cemetery was interesting but somewhat empty and cold. When I was at La Ricoleta, I saw a young man -- maybe 21 years old -- dressed in a black suit placing a bouquet of red roses on Eva Peron's vault steps. Very different than New Orleans cemeteries which really fells like the spirits are hanging around. I would never enter the New Orleans cemeteries after dark. Way too scary. The most famous resident of New Orleans St. Louis #1 cemetery is Marie Laveau -- the Voodoo Queen. She is supposed to be here:  |
