I stumbled upon this most excellent article from last year about Queen in America -- and how they almost vanished. wzlx.cbslocal.com/2014/07/22/queen-boston-garden-1982-america/"Wayne's World" brought them back here but I think Q+AL has done a lot to restore Queen as a classic rock band that matters in the US. Since Q+AL started in the US (2013), Queen music has increased in usage in US Brand campaigns so that they are now the #1 artist/songwriters of songs in major band campaigns for 2014-2015. It might have happened without Q+AL but I think it is not a coincidence. The music was there in 2010 and 2011. Why now? Hard to credit a movie from 1992.

Less is more for me when it comes to the naturally gifted and charismatic Adam Lambert. I just watched DSMN - one of my favorite songs on the set - and I liked it much better than the "over the top" one in Buenos Aires. If you're alluding to the finger gestures... I'm with you there (ducks and runs...). Yes, I am alluding to the finger gestures in particular...

Adam Lambert to perform Christmas gig for US radio station WXLO Adam Lambert has been confirmed for a festive US radio gig. The singer will perform at WXLO's acoustic Christmas bash at Worcester's Mechanics Hall. The event is taking place on December 10 and more acts are due to be announced. Lambert meanwhile released his current album 'The Original High' earlier this year. The record features the hit single 'Ghost Town'. The singer's previous effort 'Trespassing' was released in 2012. However, 'The Original High' saw Lambert jump ship from RCA Records to Warner Bros. Follow us: @pressparty on Twitter / Pressparty on Facebook.

He is right, I watched a couple of RiR twitter hashtags during the performance, it was brutal. I expected the usual push-back against Adam as frontman for Queen but there was way more homophobia than I expected. Sadz Well if they were suppose to be Queen fans and really loved Freddie...how the f*uck can they have such disgusting minds when it comes to Adam's orientation? I don't call their loving Freddie as anything but superficial blabber...not true respect and apprecistion of who he was as a human being. So......they can sing along and enjoy Adam performing Freddie/Queen songs and then turn around and spew homophobic sh*t?! I just keep telling myself that these hurtful people will all have to look at who they 'really' are in the mirror some day and it won't be pretty! Sorry for my little rant. Ah, Adamrocks . . . When I saw QAL at one of their very first shows - in Moscow! - I sat next to a teenaged girl and her father, who had made the trip into the city to see the band her dad had worshiped for years. I asked this young woman what she knew and thought of 'the new singer' - Adam. She said she didn't like him "because he is gay". Whaaa???!!! I remarked that Freddie was gay! She said "No, he wasn't." I said "He died in 1991 of AIDS - " and she denied that diagnosis, too. So, there I was. Before long, I changed seats and hung over the railing, cheering with more like-minded souls. Funny thing, though. At the end of the concert, when everyone was on their feet and pressing towards the stage in awe, I looked beside me, and there was the girl. I shouted (over the screams!) "What do you think, now??!" and she said something like "It's amazing! He's amazing!" - Just full of joy. One at a time. One at a time.

Since Adam and Queen toured here I've heard a lot more of Queen songs used for different things.
