Gelly I don't get his tweet either :  but was just trying to explain the origins of Subway and Jared. Lurve Adam's random tweets tho  OK - Gelly is just waking up for breakfast and I'm in need of dinner right now. #timezonesareseriouslyweird OT - I'm pretty happy right now... Three days ago I had my appointment at the 'two week after surgery' hospital clinic. They gave me a total ALL CLEAR at the very lowest of every level except one which had minisculey just slithered over to the next grade by 1mm. I still need to have appointment with radiologist/oncologist to discuss further treatment, but if I go ahead with radio therapy it will be 'future proofing' - not on a 'need to' basis. Three really good things happened for me last week. I found a housesitter for my Mum's house - despite the issues, I got clearance from breast cancer \o/ and.... my brother finally rang me. He has been incommunicado and 'silent' since he found out about my Mother's Will two years ago, which he was seriously unhappy about, despite not being around to help or in the country for the last 45 years (he lives in Papua New Guinea). So, for the first time in many, many, many months - some really good shit went down. Catz is happy ;D    |

Just for grins, here is a video from SNL last night. It's Gaga and Timberlake and someone who could use some help from the Urban Dictionary JT killed last night. He is soooo good and soooo funny. Gaga was awesome too. She is so much more accessible when she's just having fun. Her BTW was a bit of a WTF and one thing about the routine I became more and more glad about is that Adam doesn't uses automaton dancers devoid of any of their own personality. That has long been a practice with "the divas," and I'm finding it really gets on my nerves. And I'm constantly reminded of this episode of "Will & Grace," with JLo. |

D'ya know, I was reading some comments earlier today on the Kris/Adam leg of this and saw people were saying how Adam had just copied the Gary Jules version of Mad World. I really had to check again and I was, as before, bored witless by the GJ rendition. How can anyone not hear the difference ???. I was singing it in my head, waiting for the interesting stuff, but it never arrived; just 4 minutes of monotony (in the truest sense of the world). I think it's time that I made an admission here (please don't all scream at me, or worse still evict me!): I don't DO music; never have (ask any of my co-travellers over the years) I do words, and people. *** So for me, hearing Adam's interpretation of a song is in most cases, the first time I've taken any notice of it. Therefore, to me they are always the best. I've checked back a few times and I'm always right : . I remember reading an article with Monte where he said that, during CV times, if he got stuck on a melody, he'd sing a vague version down the phone to Adam, and he'd come back with the finished product. He may not be credited with many original melodies, but he sure knows how to fine-tune and enhance to achieve a memorable result. *** Scroll alertI realised how bald a statement that sounds, but I can't explain it any better. I really don't understand it myself. That's not to say I don't enjoy various particular performances (eg Michael Ball - Empty Chairs) but I've never (before) used music as a means of filling a silence. I'd sooner listen to news programmes, sports chat, witty convos while on a journey. How to explain this ???. I can't really; I think perhaps It's something to do with resonance. As Scearly said in her first post, I FEEL his voice. Add to that all the exemplary, endearing and just plain loveable character traits, and that's me hooked, forever. God that's a lot of words...........sorry, but I've always felt like a bit of a stowaway on this glittery rocket. I do so enjoy and esteem the knowledge, wit, fun and camaraderie here on ATOP. Aww, Justgill, how could we banish you? We love you!!!! My sister is just like you. She'll listen to music if it's on, but rarely seeks it out, barely owns any CDs, doesn't even have an iPod, lol. She is a casual Adam fan, though, after much persistence on my part There's room for all of us on this ride! :D |

Only have time to do a quickie scan of the thread.. NoAngel..gratitude and appreciation..I so hear you. Have more to gush over on your Sunday musings, but will have to wait. OT..ninjas, help please. OK, if Adam is going to the Idol Finale, isn't he cutting the Moscow travel pretty close??? I know NADA about time changes etc., flight times..as you can gather. When do you suspect he will have to leave to give himself at least a bit of a jet lag respite before the gig? Is the Iceland volcano still kicking? I don't watch the news..true confession..too depressing. Not angsting, just wondering.. Haven't had a chance to look up the members map yet but I can't wait to see who's paddling in the ocean or looking down from a far away galaxy. Should be an interesting map Back later..thanks to all of you intriguing peeps! Never in a million years did I ever think I would come to an Adam site and discuss genetics. I love this place!  |
