Thought I'd drop this here before I post in the main thread in response to Seoulmate inquiring about lurkers and missing peeps whereabouts. After our fun weekend with the South Florida group a couple of weeks ago, I got back home and ended up in the ER on Nov. 20 with a heart attack. It was a mild one with slight heart damage and they replaced a 10 year old stent in my heart. It had become 95% blocked. I was only in the hospital for 2 days, and I'm doing fine. I'm pretty much an expert on women and heart disease, so if you ever have questions, I can sure help with info. Many women are misdiagnosed and aren't as fortunate to have the outcome I have had twice now. I hope to have a lot more Adam concerts in my future and to get to meet even more Atopers in person. Whoa!! So, this is what happens after a weekend of berting shenanigans??!!! Thank God you're okay, bb!! And it's good to know you're a great resource person for women and heart disease!!!

Gotta brag on my boy ~ Last weekend we went to his dance concert at college. They used his picture in their advertizement for the concert: here is the original shot, taken during a dance he had a solo in the last year's concert: It was from this dance: This year, he was in a very controversial dance about sexuality, where he partnered with another male dancer, and he was amazing. It reminded me of the recent discussion about Adam's dancers and being "too gay". If they post a YT of that dance, I will bring it here. My son had no dance lessons or training before switching his major from Business Admin to Dance his junior year. This is his 3rd year in the dance program at UNT. Very proud mom!

A few words on the serious side of the Independence Day, that might not be that familiar to you, with a personal point of view. We have a habit to celebrate in a serious manner but there is a reason today. The Independence Day as happy as it is carries also memories of WWII with it. There are still people alive who remember what it was like when we almost lost our independency. It will probably take several decades more before it can be just fun and fireworks. My parents' families lost everything when they were evacuated from the war zone and had to start over in new surroundings (with a partial compensation from the government) because the region they used to live in became Russian territory after war. My father was 17 years old when he was enlisted (almost all male population was), wounded twice and was discharged as a result a couple of months before the war was ended. My mother was a year younger and served later on when the war continued on the home front in a hospital for the wounded. It took five years of their lives and at least 10 more as the whole nation was trying to recuperate from the losses. They survived whereas many lost their lives in the battles. They didn't talk about it much but I know that the horrible memories could never be erased. We are grateful for what we have now and naturally the history is respected today. I just lit the traditional two candles in the window with a wish there would be a way to stop all wars and people to live their lives free and in peace. PS These remembrance days (All Saints and this) in the autumn when there is very little daylight favour using candles. We have a third day in the spring when war victims are specially remembered; All Saints' was more about family and today is more about cherishing the gift of independence - all include tradition to visit cemeteries. Other days that are celebrated have a happier note and are more fun. ...and now I'm going to watch the fashion at President's Ball
