Hi Everyone, No, I'm not new I just changed my profile name, I was Adamuse. I've been meaning to do it for awhile. When I first joined PF it was my first foray into an internet forum and I was very nervous about it. I wanted a totally generic forgettable name so I wouldn't stand out. At the time I was really enjoying Muse (thanks to Adam) so I came up with Adamuse. Now, I rarely listen to Muse and haven't bought their new album so its kind of false calling myself Adamuse. So 'Curly' is more me as I have curly hair and been called that as a nickname. Ahh somewhat sadz. I thought Adam amused you ;D. |

I haven't checked here for a while, but want to wish Mr. Mayumi a speedy recovery, and to convey my best wishes to mszue and her sister. Earlier in the thread I posted a pic of my son's dance concert poster from his concert at UNT. Here is one of the dances he was in. It is called "Stroke My Ego", and was choreographed by one of his good friends, a senior in the dance program. It is about sexuality, and is quite racy. In fact, one of his professors called it "soft porn", and would not allow it to be performed on the Sunday afternoon performance. The choreographer conducted an extensive survey amoung students about their first sexual experiences, and found that most people felt violated or very alone afterwards. She tried to portray this feeling in the dance. My son is the one with red (looks dark) hair, and black vest and pants cut below the knee. His roommate is the tall blonde in the red vest and short shorts, and they are paired for most of the dance. Mahailia...I too loved your son's dancing.
Tor report back [for those who so kindly wished my sister well], while her cancer is terminal, she really seems to be doing well. She is staying well enough for light chemo right now [something new and somewhat experimental] and she is taking a number of natural health mediations etc. I was pleasantly surprised at her resilience .... so for the moment, things are good.
It was a really tiring trip with lots of visits and no down time at all....I did get the opportunity to talk on the phone with stamps gal for a few minutes but that was it. sad about that....
Glad to be back and able to post
haha...my cat is not letting me post much as he is literally climbing my left arm.....haha ouch

mszue, that is great news! Thanks for keeping us informed. I am hoping for your sister to feel well, and to find healing, my prayers are with you both.

I really wanted to post this on the news forum because I'm so frikkin' excited, but I held myself back and came here instead (like a good Atopper...hehe). GUESS WHAT???? My Manager at work just called and asked me if I wanted to go full-time!!!!!!!!! SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! If I could, and I certainly cannot, I'd be doing back flips right now!!! Of course, I said a great big YES!! It will go into effect today, but I'll still follow the same schedule for the next 2 weeks since it's already made. I don't know if this will include a raise or not, but at least I'm guaranteed 40 hours! WOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Plus, since it's before my 1 yr. anniversary, I'll get a full 40 hrs. vacation time (in May) instead of just 20. I think my personal time aka sick leave will also increase to 4 hrs./month also, but I never have had to use that yet. Everyone I know in my personal life is at work right now, so I just had to tell somebody! And, who betterer than all of you wonderful people here at Atop!! I hope I don't have to tell you how much I have always appreciated all of your support. Today started out to be a bummer of a day, and now this!! I still have some crap to deal with, but this makes it all much easier.   |
