So sorry to hear about your Amber, laceyrose. I truly believe that although it is wrenching, releasing our furry friends is part of taking care of them and helping them to be "well" again. You did a difficult but necessary thing. I had to do the same four days ago with my 11-year old cat who had kidney disease. Hugs to you and all those who face this situation. I know there are many of us on this board who include animals in our families. One more reason to love atop. So sorry to hear this sad news about your cat. I know your pain. And yes, my Amber is not suffering now. I only had her 2 years (fostered and adopted her when she was 8), and it was not long enough, but I'm grateful for the time we shared. Thanks, laceyrose. By the way, good for you for fostering and adopting an older cat, knowing they have a harder time finding a home. Although sometimes, I think animals choose us rather than the other way around. Mine did, anyway.

Irish had an unfortunate end to her Adam weekend. She slipped and fell this morning outside the hotel and threw out her hip that had been replaced. She had to be taken to the hospital and the last news I have is that they had reset it and were x-raying again to see if it seated properly before deciding if she would need any further treatment. Her husband is traveling down to pick here up. Not sure when she will be able to check and messages but feel free to send her pm's or post here and she will see them eventually.

I just heard from Mangokat that the reset did work and they did discharge her once her husband and son got down there and they are heading towards home but will probably stop somewhere for the night. She will have to see her regular doctor and there is still the possibility that they may have to do more but so far so good. Again, not sure when she will be getting online but at some point we'll let her know to go back and read the thread.

Irish...so sorry to hear about your accident. I hope you heal fast and will be back to your old self soon. I hope you had a great time at the concert before this happened to you.
