As far as I know, #4 doesn't automatically get signed to a record contract. Has JD been signed? If I remember correctly, it was unusual that season 8's 1-4 got deals.

JD interview: Asked him about what we will see on the finale. blah, blah, I'm great, blah blah. Asked about his first album. Want to break the barriers. Give metal a chance. Here's how I look at it. Adam Lambert had a chance to do that. He decided to throw away his rock fanbase from the show and pissed a lot of people off. I liked what he did on the show; gave people like me a chance, and then he went and did a pop electronica album; freakin techno album. I will stay true to the crew; garnered a metal fanbase, but I am classic metal kind of guy. Watch the finale.

Slow day is slow! I just figured out one of the reasons why I love Adam! Someone posted on twitter this youtube of Tom Jones. My mother, and therefore I, never missed an episode of his TV show when it aired in '69 -'71. I would have been 7-9 years old. So, I was apparently imprinted with the vision/sound of a tall, dark haired, tight pants'd, big voiced sexy mofo from an early age. (Not that there is much of a comparison, mind you, but, some, no? .... Bueller?) Okay, I'll come out of the Tom Jones closet. Somehow I moved from Tom to Steven Tyler to Adam. I'm analyzing that right now and the common denominator seems to be tight pants. Could I really be that shallow?

OMG, Kanadie, your comment made me Yours too, Chunkey. Yeah, dude needs to get an effing grip and to be so dismissive of Adam's album as "electronica" feeds right into the "Rock Cred" BS we were discussing earlier. Puh-leeze. That pic of Tommy is hormone-surge-inducing ... And, um, I'm pretty sure it's same backyard as the other pool pics j/s

Yea right : Please ignore that guy. <insert didn't read gif right here> Oh man, James needs to stfu and I don't even know or care what he said here--just going by past interviews. Srsly. I know, his disorder blah blah social cues blah blah, but his diarrhea of the mouth where he comes off as this entitled, pompous jack ass will not help him make friends and advance in the industry. Coming off Idol especially he needs to be careful what he says and how he comes across as to not alienate his chances of working with ppl in the biz because he already has the Idol stigma to contend with--now he has to contend with a jack ass stigma. I could care less if he is successful or not, but if he wants to truly succeed, besides vocal lessons he needs his PR team/handlers to rein him in before he really, really really puts his foot in his mouth. I try to keep an open mind regarding these young kids but when JD 1st did an interviw w his band (and don't make me find the interview) he stated up front that he and his band were all MAN and not GLAM. I tuned him out of my radar. Humility can go a long way - a lesson he needs to learn. As Adam said on AI, the work begins AFTER the season. I think JD might be in for a surprise. I watched his performance on Extra, and let's say, I was not impressed. oh well waiting for GNAFL's next move.
