yes, she did. Edge of Glory is my fav song on the album. I agree...I think it will be her biggest hit on her new album. Going to have a hard time passing BTW in sales -- now up to 2.6 million units in the US alone. Billboard today --- "The Edge of Glory," the third proper single from "Born This Way," falls 3-19 in its second week on the Hot 100, as its digital sales drop by 64% to 98,000. On Radio Songs, however, "Glory" vaults 54-37 (30 million, up 52%).Total for TEOG is not 364K units -- so it has 2.3 million to go to pass BTW -- and that is assuming that BTW stops selling which it will not. With the increased radio -- mostly coming from CHR which really moves units -- and the Idol performance, sales of TEOG will shoot up this week and it will easily end up as the #2 selling single from the album -- but #1 is really unlikely.

Actually it's not actually loosing money yet because in spite of all the problems they have out earned weekly production costs in all the previews and the first week of the new preview run sold 95% occupancy. Of course it will have to run forever to make back development cost but I heard they were doing bang up merchandise sales during the original previews, they've already recorded the cast soundtrack album and since U2 have played with 3D before I'm wondering if they have plans to film it in 3D once it finally opens and release a film or do a 3D simulcast like they do with the MET shows. "It's not dead yet, Jim" and I wouldn't doubt Bono will somehow pull this off yet. The show has to sell out for about 3 years to recover the show costs. Link: www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/spider-man-musical-1-million-54945Bono and Marvel Comics are doing fine. It is the show investors who will take the loss. And the show investors do not own the property for an unlikely 3D version. The $65 million is what was spent by last November -- the total development costs were much higher -- but the only number I can find are rumors. And on the merchandise sales -- Marvel Comics gets most of those royalties. The numbers just do not work. And a lot of investors have lost a ton of money on this one. Well to be perfectly accurate even the $65 million figure is rumor. I haven't read anything where anyone outside the production actually had any hard figures but Michael Cohl has made tons off of producing U2 tours and although it's never been reported I suspect that Bono and Edge are probably heavily invested as well Cohl was brought in later when they ran out of money just after starting rehearsals the first time. If Bono personally got him involved I wouldn't be surprised if he was just willing to all out gamble on Bono's magic. Bono has a unique approach to investing and manages to sell people on things other than bottom line profits. The Private Equity consortium he's involved in has made deals that most finance guru's can't make sense of because the numbers don't make sense. I think when you get Bono in the room numbers kind of go out the window and craziness ensues, but the man has always come up roses in the long run. To give you an idea of how crazy they can be with money, way back in 83 when they were touring the third album they invested every penny of profit they had made on the tour into filming at Red Rocks and convinced their tour promoter to double there investment. When the rain started four days before filming and weather reports showed storms through the day of the concert they still refused to cancel. Day of the show it was still storming and they went on radio and told fans they would give them free tickets to a make up show at McNichols arena the next night but that the band was still going to play and anyone who came out would still be able to go to the McNichols show. 4000+ fans showed up, the ran cut to a drizzle right before the show clearing enough for the helicopter camera crews to get airborne and they put on a show that was filmed and became iconic because the weather actually made that film. The crew had also been given the option to go home. They've pulled shit like that all through their careers so I can't count Bono out till the house goes dark.
