Wow! I'd forgotten that the studio version of No Boundaries is actually pretty good.
Great to listen to Liam. He does a great job.

Q3, I think "When did men (or Rock) stop being sexy" sounds like a good title for a book! I am actually very intrigued by this question. It is a simple question with a very complex answer but clearly sex roles were redefined -- and music shifted from rock to pop-hip hop I never thought about how the late 60's we had Jim Morrison and Robert Plant; and now we have Rhianna and Britney. And hip hop, although about sex, is not sexy. My personal opinion is that it tends towards the misogynistic. Fun to dance to sometimes but I avoid the words and meaning and how can something be truly sexy when you avoid the meaning.

And, this was actually the 1st time I listened to the entire show! I'm always at my nephews' baseball games - but today, I didn't go! (one nephew's game was wayyy too early & my other nephew's game was up in Elk Grove (near Sacramento - about a 2 hr drive from where I live)) So, got to go through ALL 80 something pages of MAXIDROM stuff, then got to hear Liam's "Adam Hour"!!!! It's been an amazing day! ;D ;D ;D

There is a wide range. But Nickelback and Daughtry are not sexy to me. And even some rock bands I love -- MUSE, Arcade Fire, Green Day, etc. are not sexy.

FYE song is a good example of what happened to sex in Rock and Roll. I know that FYE is more electro-pop, but men are restricted in their sexuality. Especially, gay men. That song is very tame compared to Rihanna's S&M. The radio PD were wrong. That song could have been a hit. Hook or not. Sorry, I love Adam but FYE is a mucked up song. I really think that its failure is only partially because it was an S&M song done by a (gay) man. The beat track is vintage. As in left over from the early 70's. There is no hook. It wasn't written for Adam and they didn't even change the key for him so they could keep all the recorded instrumentation tracks. (A classic Idol debut album trick.) I could go on. But I am convinced that even if you change the lyrics, FYE would never be as big as WWFM or even IIHY in North America or Europe. It is actually more suited to some Asian markets. .

Very interesting. Seems to me Sauli is a very positive, likable & trustworthy human being, very much like Adam. I wish them well with all my heart. I've been here for ages... Thanks everyone for all the fun and see you later!
