I just need to whine a bit -- why is Adam Lambert the only major Idol finalist to not be asked to sing the national anthem at a sports event or holiday? We know he can sing it. Maybe he doesn't want to sing it but I really doubt that. Adam has been going non-stop almost since Idol ended in 2009. Idol tour, then album, then album promotion including overseas push, then GNT for the better part of 2010 and now we're half-way through 2011 and Adam is out of the country again doing something that no other Idol has been asked to do, sing in Russia. He's also in the middle of recording his second album so as great as singing a 2 min song on national television might be, in the grand scheme of things I'd say Adam isn't missing anything by not being asked to sing the National Anthem (if in fact he's never been asked)....in fact, since it's fraught with pitfalls and possibilities to screw up which can be disastrous, ask Christina, I'm glad he's never done it  that said is he really the only major one? Lee and Crystal have been asked to sing at a major sporting event or holiday? |

You can whine all youn want. I think we have all been asking the same thing. my cynical opinion - it's the gay thing - they don't think that a sport's event goers would be receptive to Adam... I hope I am wrong... I think Clay has done it five gazillion times, but I could be wrong. At this point, I think Adam can't be bothered. |

Maybe he doesn't want to sing it but I really doubt that. Well, he did get Steven Speilberg..that to me was impressive!! 'Sports, not so much..' LOL That was a private event -- sponsored by the ADL. I want to see him at a public and official event like Kris is at this weekend -- Memorial Day DC Celebration. And it is not a "anti-gay thing". SusieFierce is right, Clay has done it many times since he came out. I just want him to do the Anthem at something really big -- like the Inauguration. |

Clay Aiken has sung the National Anthem at major holidays and sporting events. it's probably a timing thing.... ie: Adam doesn't have time and maybe doesn't have an interest honestly. I've never seen Gaga, pink, katy perry sing the national anthem. |

I haven't a clue why Adam hasn't gotten a national anthem gig, but do we know for sure he hasn't been asked? I'm guessing there's a reason he hasn't. Maybe he doesn't want to. Or it's an association/image he and his management don't want for him? (I mean the sports association). I know I'm in a very very tiny minority, but I could live a long happy life with Adam never singing the NA at a sports event. YMMV of course |
