Olga, the girl at the meet and greet in Russia who sang to Adam, was interviewed on Xena’s radio program today. She traveled by train for two days to go to the concert, and learned she had won the m&g only a day before the concert. Xena asked her lots of questions about the concert, but she seemed to be at a loss for words. Just overwhelmed and still in shock. We can all relate. She said there were about 8-9 people at the m&g and she waited to be last. She got a hug and then told Adam that she could say a thousand words about how he inspired her, but she would rather sing for him. (She explained in the interview that she wanted to communicate to Adam in his own language - music). He said, Okay.” She sang WWFM, changing it to What Do I Want from You. He told her he loved it and she had a sweet voice. She then gave him a disc with some pictures, letters, and a story about how Adam had touched her life in a special way. She hopes he will listen to it. She sang the song in the interview, plus a version of Mad World written for him. The interview is lengthy and sometimes difficult to listen to because she struggles to articulate thoughts and feelings in English. But very sweet. Suzanne Barsch is related to the fashion industry and I think Adam met her when he did the fashion week. I rememer Toy Drive pics.

Every other top 4 finalist from Idol has been booked for 1 or more national anthems. It is an Idol tradition. if there are any. Even Justin and Blake got anthems to sing. All but Adam. Hmm is it possible he hasn't wanted to do it because he wanted to position himself as more of a star separate from Idol and that singing the anthem when coming straight off the show was kind of an Idol-y thing to do? Like, maybe he will sing it (if asked) after he has had sufficient time away from the Idol association and is more established? I dunno.....oh well, there are a lot of variables we don't and may never know.... I'd rather see him sing on SNL or something. That makes sense, Chunkey. Well, if it's not a gay thing, and it's an Idol tradition, and Adam doesn't have a philosophical issue with it (which he must not, since he HAS sung it), then I'm going to conclude that the opportunities that have come up are not special enough for him. I mean, if any old Idol can get one of these gigs, it doesn't seem to mean a great deal. Seems Adam & his management want to set him apart a bit, and not have him be an easy "get." Naturally, I'm biased and know nothing, lol. |

The band Vintage Trouble is touring the UK and I believe Adam is a friend of the lead singer Ty Taylor. They're playing an East London venue tomorrow night so maybe he's on a combined business/pleasure trip?

I just need to whine a bit -- why is Adam Lambert the only major Idol finalist to not be asked to sing the national anthem at a sports event or holiday? We know he can sing it. Maybe he doesn't want to sing it but I really doubt that. GGGRR... please don't remind me... I think this is the dream of every Adam's fans! We've been waiting for the past two years.. he didn't even got to do it in Lakers game. What's wrong with that? It's not a dream of mine. I hate sports except for Tennis and maybe possibly baseball (which I haven't paid any attention to in about 5 yrs). I've watched the Superbowl halftime entertainment maybe twice in my life. He's already sang the national anthem where it counts - for the military during his homecoming. And he sang the national anthem at the Spielberg event. Good enough for me. |

it is not the gay thing. Clay Aiken has sung the National Anthem at major holidays and sporting events. it's probably a timing thing.... ie: Adam doesn't have time and maybe doesn't have an interest honestly. I've never seen Gaga, pink, katy perry sing the national anthem. No I agree it is not a "gay thing". And Gaga and Katy Perry would be wise to avoid singing the National Anthem. Pink could sing it if she chose to -- she certainly has the range. But many famous pop/urban/country/rock singers has sung the National Anthem -- including recently Beyonce. but.. but.. some of the idols don't have the range.. they still got this NA gigs  ETA:.. yes.. shev66..
