Just a note that I've added more "google translated" Russian press quotes about Adam at Maxidrom to the concert thread. Some common themes: they are really hung up on his eye makeup and nail polish (the articles have varying degrees of homophobia), nothing bad to say about his music/voice, acknowledge the girls are all about him, and mention the balloons and paper hearts (good job Russian Glamberts, you got a lot of press!)

IMHO the fact that Adam's Russian fans have been emboldened enough to protest the homophobic attitude of the djs,etc. is incredible. This is Russia after all. Gay equality, often begins with a grass roots movement. Just look how Adam's American fans have rallied for equality.. We have called out homophobia where ever it rears it's ugly head. Looks like the Russian fans are beginning to do the same.
Adam by being Adam helps to change attitudes wherever he goes.

Elton John was in Moscow last year on his tour. He had 50,000 peeps attend his concert. I think because this was a rock/metal concert the expectations and mindset were different. |
