Agree! I am very calm about today's bump. Also, once again, look at the number of spins #50 has! Remember when it took only 700 spins to make #50? Exactly a month ago, #50 had 753 spins! Songs in the 900 range were 43/44. Never seems to be the trend when Adam's songs are out!
3 things are skewing the numbers:
1) Beiber
2) Adele
3) Many big songs above are still on the chart, although dropping, their numbers are still big.

With the chart update from the Netherlands I can be very short. Both GT and ALN dropped out of all charts that matter. So after 33 weeks GT isn't in any of the relevant charts anymore. ALN was around for 11 weeks, but is also gone now. Time for another single here in the Netherlands  . Ghost Town did make it into the Radio 2 all time Top 2000 as I told in the news thread this week to #1905.  WWFM also manged to get into a couple of end of year all time charts: Q-music all time Top 1000: #185 (last year #293, peak was on #137 in 2011, 6 years in the chart) GT was #574 in this chart. Veronica all time Top 1000: #690 (peak, last year #715, 4 years in the chart) Radio 10 Gold all time Top 4000: #1344 (peak, last year #2155, 3 years in the chart) There will be some end of year charts which will involve only 2015 songs, but those aren't available yet as there is still some time to go. I'll report about those later. GT probably will be #15 in the Top 40 chart for 2015 as the last chart of the year was posted yesterday. |

Working from my tracking on daily spins using the building chart today was a +4 update on Pop. Since the building chart only gives the spins I can't calculate the AI and figuring the bullet would be more trouble than it is worth to me. Sat & Sun are currently the lowest spin days of the week because ALN isn't on any countdown shows yet. Last Saturday was only a +1 update so I'm not expecting that to change much this weekend.

I posted this yesterday on the main thread but didn't get a response. Anyone here that might know an explanation?
Some weird stuff has been going on in Spotify every Saturday update. I'm still tracking the numbers for GT and through kworb I can also see it's top 200 positions in Spotify. So far for 3 weeks already every Saturday update (with plays from Friday) has a hug jump in plays in a couple of Spanish speaking countries: Argentina, Chili, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico and Spain. This has pushed GT back into the top 200 worldwide for 2 weeks straight now. Somehow Denmark is also involved as there the plays also increase in the Friday and Saturday update.

So #50 on the chart this week is at 958 spins. If we assume the same spins this Saturday as last Saturday then ALN would be at 900. Just to show how crazy this can be here are some stats:
Oct 1, 2015 #50 577 spins
Oct 15, 2015 #50 490 spins This was the week the first pop station spun ALN
Oct 31, 2015 #50 670 spins Second pop station spinning ALN
Nov 7, 2015 #50 566 spins
Nov 14, 2015 #50 753 spins
Nov 21, 2015 #50 648 spins 30 stations added on the 17th
Nov 28, 2015 #50 736 spins 14 stations added on the 24th
So by the time ALN had enough stations playing to hope to get on the chart the #50 spin count was almost 250 spins higher than the week the first pop station started spinning. This is one of the things that makes following songs on radio so frustrating. It's not like there is a certain bar you have to go over because the bar raises and lowers. Pretty much every time Adam has released a song the spin count required to reach #50 has risen just as his song is climbing making it that much harder for the song to hit the charts.
Going back and looking at the chart for Oct 16th you will see that 900 spins would have put him at #41 that week and this week 900 spins is not even in the top 50.
Remember always when looking at radio that this is a game that is constantly changing and all the numbers are meaningless without the context of the particular day/week they come from.
