Bringing my late night..very tired rambling post over from last night and adding to it.LOLPart 1
I wanted to meet you and other Atopers so badly. Darn...getting parking was really a mess and our seats were different from where I thought we were going to be.
But the concert as AMAZING...really AMAZING!! Adam was so happy, silly, talkative, gave shout outs to St. Louis more than once, and the vocals were so good. Cassie you will have to tell us about some of the notes he was hitting. Day-Um ..that last note Adam hit before he left the stage. Just WOW!!!!!
It is 12:00am here and my son are grabbing a bite to eat...so late. I'll post more tomorrow.
Part 2
I tried my first attempt at tweeting at a concert and I only did a couple because I was the only one around me doing it and my phone lit up the area around me and I thought I would disturb the people trying to watch the concert.
There was a middle aged couple sitting at the end of the isle next to us who got really upset when PTX fans stood up (there were just a few around us) during their performance and the ushers eventually made them sit down. I told my 'virgin live' Adam fan to watch what happens when Adam comes on...everybody will stand up and won't sit back down and this couple will have a fit. Sure enough they had waited for Adam's performance and then when we all stood up they must of left some time after that because the one time I took my eyes off Adam and looked over their way...they had left. Their loss!
My friend seeing Adam live for the first time LOVED Adam and thought the other two acts sounded fine but became bored and said she couldn't sit through a whole concert of just them. And I must agree....they sounded fine but I definitely couldn't go just see either of them in concert. Just not my cupa...but the crowd really seemed to love PTX and enjoyed Rachel P. My friend was disappointed Adam didn't come back for an encore. You know the..."Oh! NO! Come back Adam..the concert is over too fast! I Need An Encore!" syndrome!
I explained that at these radio 'payback' concerts they really don't do encores. But the crowd, by their very enthusiastic cheering after it was over, would have definitely welcomed an encore.
The high school all girl choir were good but really seemed strange to me performing as an opening act for a show Adam was performing on. JMHO But it being close to Christmas I can understand it.
As Q3 mentioned, many enthusiastic fans there for PTX but I didn't see too many leave after their performance. The downstairs area where I was sitting was totally packed for Adam.
My son who loves Adam enjoyed all the acts. He commented how his favorite Adam song is The Light and he loved how Trespassing and AOBTD were put together. He saw a gay friend he had worked with at one time who text my son later that he had only liked GT on this album until seeing Adam LIVE and that he needs to go back and listen to the songs again now. Said Adam was amazing and he really had enjoyed his performance.
Adam sounded sooo good! I can't explain how good his voice sounded filling that beautiful theater!! He had us all mesmerized from the minute he walked on to the stage!! WWFM...the new arrangement...damn amazing!! And LUCY..my favorite live...so good! We got some head banging, a little call and response, and the band....damn they are really..really good.
I have to admit here, though I haven't said anything before, that I am not a fan of reggae IIHY but live it was amazing and really works!! Showing casing each band member's real talent... I can understand what some mentioned in their posts that it was a long band introduction and song...but it really worked live. And to watch how the band really added/help Adam take the song to a different place was wonderful to experience. Adam really appreciated the moment as he thanked the guys after the song finished.
We were so lucky to get loose, happy, and chatty Adam. I can't remember before which song Adam talked to two people sitting in different sections of the audience and said something like "Do you two know each other" or something along those lines. What I loved was that the audience got to see the different parts of Adam's personality...the fierce Rock Star and the fun sometimes silly goofball that makes the audience laugh with him.
Closing the show with the energy of Trespassing and AOBTD is definitely the way to go! It gets the crowd leaving the theater in a "Wow! Great Show" up mood!
LOL! Sorry this got to be so long.
My only regret was not being able to meet Atopers that were there. Hopefully it'll happen some day.
ETA: Oh I forgot to mention, besides the couple next to us complaining about the PTX fans standing, some other people around the area where we were sitting in started to shout "Sit Down" to the few PTX fans standing around them. They eventually sat down. No one shouted that when we all stood up when Adam entered the stage. Of course with the loud screams and cheers for AFL...no one would have been able to hear their complaints anyway.lol
