So Sauli went to London. That makes sense. Not the travelling, but them being together, since Adam didn't come to Finland.

In this clip, when Kris sings I can literally feel the tension in his body and in his voice. My throat is straining with him to hit those notes. Then, when Adam starts to sing, I can feel my body just relax. His voice feels so effortless and in control. Can you hear it, too? Can you feel it? Thanks for the explanation. I couldn't figure out why I felt so uncomfortable when watching that clip, but after reading this it clicked and I understood. Do you think Kris was feeling nervous or was the tension only from the strain to reach the notes? Kris had just finished a 52 city Idol tour, and had done countless interviews. So, I don't imagine he was overly nervous for this performance. No, (and please don't interpret this as any slam against Kris or his performance style) Kris doesn't appear to have had any formal training in singing. He is pushing his chest voice to hit notes that are too high for him with chest voice, naturally. That means he is constricting the vocal cords very tightly and then forcing air thru them to hit the notes. (Not good practice, and can lead to vocal problems if done too much.) You can both see and hear the strain. ( on other songs I have heard him flip into his falsetto or head voice for high notes, but it thin and lacks power, so, he doesn't use it except for soft or tender songs.) This is common for pop and rock singers, and some people prefer the raw, unpolished effort of singing that way. For me, it just makes me uncomfortably tense.

Oh sure. Now that I have some time to spend here & can stay caught up no one is posting! cassie - ITA. This is just ONE reason I do not listen to any Kradam music. Yes but... but may I disagree please?? As much as I admire Kris, the person, I dont think he's something special. I'm talking about real singers like Beyonce and Christina or Nikka...Or Pink! Collaborations aren't about bringing two artists together who are talented in the same ways. It's not a competition! Collabs usually have an artist who is the stronger singer matched with another artist who brings something different to the table. That's why you see Pop singers adding rap, reggae, or country artists to their songs. There is a difference between a duet and a collab that is used in hopes that the single will get played on several radio formats. (or appeal to different types of listeners)

(or appeal to different types of listeners) the collabs I've seen (not too many) seem to smell of MARKETING and nothing else... kind of = let's get the fans of another genre or another artist pay attention... I notice no enhancement to the performance of either one of the collab artists... So, for me - I don't want to hear anyone next to Adam , it would only take the precious time that I could be hearing his voice... I know I am a minority on this

My dh has a really good singing voice, and he has always cringed when Kris strains to hit the high notes. Makes him uncomfortable too, especially when watching him sing.
