I know she is not famous and I am surely not an authority on music by any means but I would love him to duet with Scarlett Cherry she can keep up with him. What do you think Cassie is she a good match..

I'm with you Nica! The only people I might be interested in hearing him with are not people looking to do collaborations. I can think of people who would benefit if he worked with them, but not that many where it would be a benefit for Adam. I just want to listen to his voice. I agree that collabs are about marketing, but marketing is CRUCIAL right now, unfortunately. It remains to be seen if Top 40 radio is going to snub him again this era like they did with FYE. My hunch is no, especially if the material is as good as we're hoping (praying), anticipating ... I also tend to think they will feel he's "earned" his place during next era. However, by being linked to someone who is already a radio powerhouse, especially for Top 40, (or in our case in L.A., urban markets), it will be that foot in the door to anoint him as one of their go-to artists. Until that happens, they can still turn up their noses and use Idol or "whatever" as an excuse not to play him. I'm hoping they won't, by all means, but he's trying to crack a VERY tough market for any artist, much less a gay, white male. Anything he can do to that end is worth exploring, IMO. And once they've accepted him, they've accepted him and shouldn't be a fight after that. I agree with you and FanOfTheMan re "marketing is needed"... of course it is! But this leads to the very "old" discussion on "being an opening act" for the same "marketing" reason... From my observation of Adam - he does all what's needed from the business POV but he stops at the point where HIS INTEGRITY and HIS SENSE OF ARTISTIC SELF WORTH is not compromised. He is presenting himself as a uniquely and singulary special, exquisite performer. The other artists that he's ever mentioned as collab "wishes"were ALL the ones with real VOICES, the cream of the crop... and even those were usually mentioned as a response to a question, not a self-generated statement. So, it seems to me that he wants to "get there" HIS WAY... On the other hand - I will not be surprised if he does something completely opposite to what I expect... ;D that's why it is so much fun.... ;D

May be..............................but you're not alone : . Beyond the recording, music video, radio play, and tv appearances...if Adam were to do a duet or collab with someone and potentially have a big hit, what then would happen when touring? I would assume tours are set up with artists from the same label so since Adam deserves to be the headliner of his own tour...does the song then need to be with a limited list of artists who might be an opening act for him? Dont' think that is a problem. Been to a few concerts where a song was a collab but was rearranged to be a solo for tour.

mjsbigblog I thought one of the names on the SYTYCD spoiler list looked familiar #adamlambert bit.ly/iD9oEI3 minutes ago via bitly Someone else will probably mention it, but the Sasha vid was posted in 2009. I did mention it when I posted the video Sasha this is from Oct.25. 2009it may have been a video she sent in for her audition

You're right, Cookie, there may be no perfect recipe, especially when certain artists (Pink) are likely not to be available any time soon. There are certainly a lot of variables, but I still think it should be considered if the opportunity arises. The biggest artists in the world are doing collabs (the aforementioned Gaga and Beyonce), Eminem, Rihanna, Usher, etc. and they are being used as a major marketing hook.

Thanks for the explanation. I couldn't figure out why I felt so uncomfortable when watching that clip, but after reading this it clicked and I understood. Do you think Kris was feeling nervous or was the tension only from the strain to reach the notes? Kris had just finished a 52 city Idol tour, and had done countless interviews. So, I don't imagine he was overly nervous for this performance. No, (and please don't interpret this as any slam against Kris or his performance style) Kris doesn't appear to have had any formal training in singing. He is pushing his chest voice to hit notes that are too high for him with chest voice, naturally. That means he is constricting the vocal cords very tightly and then forcing air thru them to hit the notes. (Not good practice, and can lead to vocal problems if done too much.) You can both see and hear the strain. ( on other songs I have heard him flip into his falsetto or head voice for high notes, but it thin and lacks power, so, he doesn't use it except for soft or tender songs.) This is common for pop and rock singers, and some people prefer the raw, unpolished effort of singing that way. For me, it just makes me uncomfortably tense. Although I listen to music a lot I'm very unmusical myself so thanks for explaining this more.

my dream for something really different, Adam + strings his voice singing anything accompanied by violin, cello etc. I'm probably not gonna get that wish so he can surprise me with anything and I'll be happy

What do you think Cassie is she a good match.. I think they could sound really great together, but does it help him crack the urban radio markets that he's found challenging so far?

I really do 100% agree with you about the marketing potential. And this may be more of a problem of me having no creative vision for this sort of thing. I'm just having trouble thinking of more than a couple of people who fit both criteria of sounding great with him and being a great fit in terms of leveraging different radio play/new fans. Eventually, I bet he comes up with one where as soon as I hear it I think "Duh! Well that was obvious!"
