While stumbling around internet looking for something totally unrelated to Adam came up with RS link to a timeline for Adam news from Idol until now of articles that have appeared in Rolling Stone. www.rollingstone.com/music/artists/adam-lambert

Thank you Ghost! Great recap! You have been able to do a lot more than I have. I have yet to meet Adam but have seen him up close and I know the feeling. He takes your breath away!

GT made a reappearance on Ryan Seacrests's Am Top 40 this morning. Ryan was promoting Am Idol, which starts next week. Then he says, "Here is Adam Lambert, an Idol alum, with Ghost Town."

I always assumed the masks are worn as protection from smog, but I just googled and found some interesting and new to me facts: "In many Asian countries, even parts that aren't heavily populated, it's common for people to wear the masks if they think they're getting sick, are sick, or even have a slight cold. They do this as a courtesy to prevent spreading their own infection to others.Dec 2, 2011
.....
FASHION TRENDS
A recent trend in some Asian cultures is the use of masks for fashion or for utility. Since masks have become ubiquitous, women have begun wearing them to avoid having to put on make-up before hitting the streets. If they just need to run a couple errands or down to the corner store, it’s easier to slip on a mask and blend in than it is to spend an hour or more applying make-up. Pop stars, actresses and models also wear them to avoid getting recognized in public, and to avoid having the paparazzi catching them not looking their best."zidbits.com/2011/12/why-is-common-to-see-people-wearing-surgical-masks-in-asian-countries/also an article re mask wearing trends in Japan: www.japantoday.com/category/lifestyle/view/more-japanese-youth-wearing-surgical-masks-to-hide-their-face" ZIP! also surveyed the reasons why people who aren’t sick or have allergies wear masks. The results, beginning with the most popular answer, are as follows:
1. They’re not wearing any makeup and want to hide their face 2. To keep their face warm 3. To make their face look small 4. It comforts them 5. To keep their throat from drying while sleeping" and much more... anyhooo.... I don't want Adam to get the "Mask as a fashion" idea... or as an anti-paparazzi idea...or ANY kind of idea...I am sure no need to explain my reasoning here...so I am MAD< MAD< MAD they gave him a mask as a gift! >:D

Love all the feedback from the Singapore show. My thoughts: He really did tone it down quite a bit for this audience, esp. as a result of that conservative protest group. I can accept that decision. And I guess his outfit was part comfort (heat, humidity) and maybe some sort of over-compensation for the "don't be too sexy" thing. (No more long tunics, Adam!) But he also seemed to sing in a lower register and didn't go for the those glory notes that we all love and expect.
My hopes for the TOH tour: He'll ramp up the sexy stage excitement a bunch of notches. I'm sure he will. That's what people want from him. Not the old GNT raunch, but the new, current uber grown-up, sexy Adam. He'll pull out all the stops vocally. This will be his first major solo tour in a LONG time. He has to impress. I hope he cuts down the band intro part, not because they don't deserve their due, but because it can tend to drag. I know he improvs and dances through it, but it could be shorter. And let me say this at risk of some Glambert wrath: I think he could use some dance coaching. He says he's not a dancer, and in my opinion he is pretty clunky at it sometimes. He's great with slinking around the stage while singing, but with a rehearsed, dance-step routine, not so much, IMO. That tunic thing didn't make the dance moves look very smooth and graceful, either. Maybe if he'd been wearing something else? Anyway, his vocals were great, as always, but I think he might have overdone the "toning down" a bit too much. I guess I just love my Adam to be far sexier onstage and more exuberant. Must have been the heat. Can't wait for the TOH tour to start in earnest with Adam pulling out ALL the stops!
