A little behind the current subject, but I'm slow. Mom always did say I was a little strange but music “feels”. I just purchased a download of Randy Crawford: She feels like soft velvet Adele, listened to several of her songs: She feels like razors I like very few female singers, which I can list on one hand: Cher, Bette Midler, Janis Joplin and Tina Turner. Have no idea what they have in common, except I like them. Now Adam: Hard to put in one word. Happy always comes to mind. Even with sadder songs there is a good undercurrent. Adam and Pavarotti always, always give me goose bumps when I am listening to their music. Plus I can never have either of them on as background because I just have to stop and listen. Sing along (well mouth the words, can’t sing) move or whatever the music is dictating! In so far as a collaboration, for me just no, but am on the team “whatever he wants”. Who wants a watered down drink.

While I'm waiting for a tweet from AFL about the infamous duet...... Most of my pop listening (Ipod & cds) consists of aforementioned AFL. Lately (like the last 2 years!) I haven't listened much to the music of my life. IOW - the music I've always loved. So today I did. Jack Jones, Edith Piaf, Sarah Vaughn, Eva Cassidy, Buddy Greco, Edie Gorme, a few Jazz instrumentals and Frank. Eclectic . Was a nice change. Brought back old feelings and nostalgia. Now it's back to Adam. The Sinatra album was "No One Cares" and it made me think of the Adele song that was posted here and how Sinatra could bring such pathos to a song in an understated way. This entire album has an underlying sadness that comes through in his inflections, his intimate tone and the strings of Nelson Riddle. I felt more angst & sadness listening to it than I would ever feel listening to Adele. But that's me. And I'm sure I'm a party of one. I love that we have such diverse taste here. And I'm just tapping my foot and treading water til something happens.

mindchnger mindchnger PREACH RT siamusic: Anyone who thinks they deserve more than an album from an artist is delusionally entitled. This is an interesting comment from Sia. She has a point but....think of the corollary...the artist has no reason to think they deserve anything from their fans than an album purchase! How does that fit with all the discussions we have been having lately re the need to build strong fan bases if you wish to make it/be successful in this business. Sia is not just speaking for herself here...she did not append the statement with 'in my opinionb' or some such thing. It would be interesting to hear her....and other artists....defend such a position in todays competitive and troubled marketplace. Adam often references the price of fame and acknowledges it is worth it...but not all agree. Should they get their 'cake and eat it too'? Does our love...or should our loyalty...come with a price? Many of us have bought multiple copies of Adam because we care about him....if Sia had her druthers.....that loyalty would vanish and we would all, at the most, have bought one cd and that is it! I wonder if she thought of that when she spoke out....

Hmmmm...wonder what this means. Apparently some people were arrested for dancing at the memorial. If you are on twitter, you MUST go read chunkeymonkey81's tweets! She found the book for that movie they wanted Adam to be in and is tweeting lines from the book. It is sooo bad it is hilarious! backstory is here: www.thehomeplanet.org/?p=67499

Hmmmm...wonder what this means. There was a story in the new recently about people doing a flash mob at the Jefferson memorial for some reason--I think a protest of something--and the cops there went over the top arresting them(beating them to the ground, etc) and shit..saying they needed a permit or something...ridic. Lynne--Hahaha yes. Had to stop. Too much terrible made brain hurt. Here is the post I did about it on my site, complete with a link to the original post abt the whole shebang if anyone isn't familiar with the Colbalt Sky crap. Sooo bad. Sooo good. I don't know how anyone would take a movie offer for....that. www.thehomeplanet.org/?p=67499

Wow, Gaga says an album shouldn't cost more than 99 cents. Talk about devaluing an artist and their ability to make some money. bit.ly/kNrBwq Easy to say when she got the regular price for the albums that Amazon sold! Wonder if she'd feel the same way if she only received a percentage of the 99 cents!??

Interesting, just really wondering why Sia has taken it upon herself to tweet Adam for this information.. Chunky.. can't wait for your dramatic readings should you decide to do them... LMAO
