Happy Glam Nation Anniversary, Everyone!
Seems impossible it was a year ago that right about now I was in my room overlooking the tour busses at the Genetti Best Western in lovely downtown Wilkes Barre.
When I checked in, the front desk staff were actually discussing "Adam" - not Mr. Lambert - in glowing terms. The maid was there, she had cleaned his room (he had already checked out) which was now the - not kidding - Bridal Suite. A bride and groom were checking in that night. (Apparently no correlation with Glam Nation)
Not that I somehow managed to get off at the wrong floor, later. It was a short building, quick elevator ride, long drive, I wasn't paying attention. The Bridal Suite and my room were at the same end of the floor. The security camera footage, if there is such a thing, would just show someone perplexed, looking for their room. And no indication of her touching the doorknob of said Bridal Suite and channeling in how Adam must have felt going in and out of there for days, rehearsing the launch of his solo extravanganza.
And how much thousands of us were as excited and thrilled and eager and happy as he was. And wished him every good and glorious success.
That would have been completely out of my very mature character. Absolutely didn't happen.
Seems like eons and eons since "first show, first tour." Not just a mere year. But what a year it's been.
May Adam - and all of us - have many more years of wonder and delight.
And imagine "first show, second tour". What joy that will be.
--And--
Happy Birthday, Linda!!! Good day Adam picked for GNT launch, wouldn't you say?

oh.. I wonder why Adam didn't sing Enter the Sandman in Maxidrom? That's a metal song right? Yes, but as a long-term Metallica fan, I believe that covering Metallica would have been a huge mistake. PLEASE don't throw things at me --- Vocally, Adam could be spectacular on that song but it is clear from the past performances that he really doesn't really know the lyrics -- and he does not "own" this song like he does on WLL. Adam's band is a great touring band for a solo artists but they are not Metallica. And they could not come close to replicating the Metallica "wall of sound". It is the essential Metallica song -- it made them stars. IMO Adam made a wise choice performing his own music and covering the metal song that was just made for him -- WLL -- and that requires one really strong guitarist.

Just chatted with someone who was in the audience for Idol Show WLL -- she remembers no mike stand stroking during the performance. But they had the camera on his face for a chunk of the performance so no way to be sure. If it happened on Idol, it must have been very subtle because I cannot find any online reports about it. And there are a number of eyewitness/audience reports. oh, yeah, found it: in Realite at 3:46 Adam talks about the Idol WLL and that TPTB shot him from the waist up 'cause he was doing "the same mic-ography" lol, that he did on Idol tour. ( and he even clarifies what he's talking about with this lil' gesture ;D ) www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_Yh4B1O_aIOh great find -- I forgot about that interview and you can't Google video content. And they do clearly stay on his face for a big chunk of that performance! Elvis had to be waist up -- but Adam was only neck up.

SCROWL DOWN - WARNING I wonder how a 17-yo Idol winner feel or his mother feel when he realizes that he has a lot of mature women as his fans and one of them saying this to him,"“Oh, Scotty. If I was only 50 years younger”. Sorry ... but I'm not 20-30's .. I know admiring a voice and a personality is one thing but to actually say those things to a 17yo is seriously creeping me out. People can say it's only words or expression, but still as a mature woman, she can choose her word wisely... ugh.. I feel like want to say this to this woman," Lady.. if you like the kind of voice that Scotty has.... go crazy on Randy Travis" ????????????? What is this from? MJs? An article? Poor Scotty...He doesn't know what is coming at him this summer, does he? Scotty will be kissing that cross every night on the tour. It is a comment from MJs posted by someone who is not a Scotty fan. There are some Idol fans whose Idols are not doing well right now who are being a bit bitchy about the success Scotty is having. JMHO but I think it is jealously. Scotty has a lot of older fans who remind me of Archie's fans -- they look at him as a cute nice kid. Q3 comment: this topic has been closed.

Good day Adam picked for GNT launch, wouldn't you say? Aww, love this post, FHS!!! Thanks for the memories. Yes, what a year it's been and so glad you could be there for first show. I remember all the should-we or should-we-not go discussion. All the anticipation and later flail. The first of soooo many GNT shows. Our first glimpses of the costumes, choreography, staging – good times!! Love hearing how the hotel staff were "discussing him in glowing terms."

It's at the end, "Woman, you need (hump, hump) LLLLOOOOOVVVVVVE!!!" 2:30 on this video www.youtube.com/watch?v=tE4Nl1-Fq5YBut that was so tame -- I guess I have a different definition of "inappropriate". Not exactly the AMA performance

Not exactly the AMA performance I don't think it was inapprorpriate, either. It was pure Rock Star! And much milder than what the Idol results' night guests were doing! Adam also said in an interview, maybe the same one with Slezak, that he was surprised he was able to say "every inch of my love" without Idol trying to change that lyric. I don't think the AMA performance was inappropriate either, for the type of show it was and the hour.
