Dear parents council (and others who love to whine about the degradation of society via media and arts), There is a simple thing that people can do if they don't like the – video, film, book, song, painting, sculpture, story, .... don't watch, look or read. Avail yourself of the off button, the stop button, close the book, turn the page, leave the gallery. For all the protestations about how these things are contributing to the downfall of society I can show you epochs through time where things were so much worse. So please oh please, keep your faux outrage and stop trying and make your values my values - I'm all set thanks. Yours Sincerely, I live in the real world - how about you?  |

Yeah, idgi either. A cursory look at the vid and listen to the song makes it pretty clear that there is nothing being glamorized or glorified. The woman in the vid is not elevated by the murder she commits; her life is ruined. It's up to the viewer to think about whether her action was justified. And the violent act against her is all-too-real for many women. Rihanna went on a Twitter rant of her own recently and one thing she said: "The music industry isn't exactly Parents R Us! We have the freedom to make art, LET US! Its your job to make sure they dont turn out like US."Hmmm, reminds me of something I've heard before... I don't get why artists/performers/entertainers are expected to model good behavior. That should come from parents. Don't sit your kid in front of a TV unattended and then bitch about what they see. IMO JMHO YMMV etc etc etc  |

Every time I'm not online Adam tweets. :( I have a conference this week out of town and I just got to my room and hooked up my laptop. I not worried about the course & exam I have to complete this week I was worried I wasn't going to have internet and have no Adam news!  |
