It seems that Sasha-Natalya story is one of their "main" lines... they got incredible screen time compared to the others... Natalya got a free pass...interesting... Would it be silly to suspect that the show is counting on attracting the Glambert forces to watch? Am I too self absorbed?

hmmm.. I am loving how much we get to see Sasha.. but really don't understand why Natalia is still in the running..
don't get me wrong I like Natalia but, I just don't see it.. the skill level isn't there.. and after seeing the others who are getting cut.. I am confused why they are keeping Natalia..
You can see Sasha's talent.. and I can appreciate how well Natalia moves.. but I can't "see" actual techincal talent.. anyone understand what I mean.
Well , you are probably right about the way the cut goes.. I remember seeing a preview clip asking Sasha about how she felt if only one of them went. So that is probably what they were talking about.

I have been a long time fan of SYTYCD and have always felt as though the level of talent was vastly greater than the talent on idol. These dancers have trained for years to attain this level of skill. I am looking forward to the top 20 when they begin dancing the choreographers' routines. I find myself moved to tears by several performances each season. I am excited for Sasha--it's going to be fun to be invested enough in someone to vote again.

I agree with you about Natalia. I think they are playing games with the sister backstory. They put some of the less skilled through knowing they'll be easy to cut later on.

And soooooooo smart for thinking of the "sister angle." She would have never gotten all this screen time by herself. She knows how reality TV works!! And if one of them makes it through to Top 20, they will already have a fanbase from this! ETA: No, I don't think Adam has anything to do with SYTYCD showing so much of Sasha. It's all the sister thing they are playing up for good TV. I hope they never mention Adam because someone I know who, watches the show all the time, and who did not know about Sasha being on Adam's tour (until I told her) thinks Sasha shouldn't be there now because she is too professional already. Ya, me and my big mouth. :-/

They did say that she danced on Adam's tour once when she first tried out, but it was very brief.

Thats interesting that someone would think that because Sasha had a job dancing that she is already "too professional"
Many of the contestants are probably already teaching/have their own studios etc...

My guess would be that many consider doing something like being on a star's tour as a goal for winning something like SYTYCD. Since Sasha has already done that, they feel she is more "professional" than some others. There's been a little talk like that at MJs too. I disagree, but I can also understand their thinking.

Allison (remember her?) had been in all of the High School Musical movies. There was another girl dancer and a guy dancer who had also been in a couple of HSMs, but I can't remember which ones. Neil had danced in Broadway productions and had a leading role in a popular off-Broadway show, Altar Boys. I suspect that many of these dancers, especially those who are older, have had their share of dancing in tours, movies, music videos, and on the Broadway stage. Danny Tidwell, from season 3, was a dancer in the American Ballet Theater. He also performed principal roles in two original shows created by Debbie Allen, including Dreams and Pearl, which he performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., in front of President George W. Bush. Alex Wong, from last year, was a former principal soloist with the Miami City Ballet. Many of the ballroom dancers were world champions in their specialties. IMO, there are many past dancers that have more experience than being part of a dancing team of four for a tour like the GNT. The complaint over at MJs came from an Adam hater, who finds something to dislike about anyone or anything that has to do with Adam. :
