I am not sure who he is, but it's awesome that he lists Adam as an inspiration. www.marketwire.com/press-release/chioke-dmachi-releases-boyz-dont-cry-on-itunes-1524659.htm June 08, 2011 20:06 ET Chioke Dmachi Releases Boyz Don't Cry on iTunes LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - Jun 8, 2011) - A native of Southern California, Chioke Dmachi is gearing up for the release of his first debut music project with a message of cause and movement in an effort to awaken minds and encourage hearts through inspiration. .... How does his clear pronunciation factor into this? My daughter has bi-lateral hearing aides and often has trouble understanding lyrics. She comments all the time that she never has to Google lyrics for Adam. She always understands what he is saying. I think that is why his lyrics are often thought to be controversial. Some singers have much more radical lyrics than Adam, but no one notices. This is the third or fourth mention of people with hearing losses being able to understand Adam's lyrics when they don't understand other singers. I find that fascinating! It has nothing to do with pitch, actually. The pitch or notes are sustained on vowels --- which are the easiest speech sounds to hear, because they are louder, and at a lower frequency. Clear articulation of lyrics has to do with pronouncing the consonants in the words. This is where that classical training of Adam's comes in. There are techniques one learns to make those consonants clearly audible, without popping or hissing them. It's one of those things that we don't normally notice except in its absence, when we say, "She sounds good, but I can't understand the words. (Allison???)" Obviously, from the reports of people with hearing losses, Adam does an exceptional job of articulating and diction, yet he still sounds contemporary, not "snobby classical." Cassie, make that the fifth you've heard about...I have significant hearing loss and wear hearing aids but don't need them when listening to Adam's music ;D. Everyone else is "mush".

It's pop. I grew up with classic rock so...I'm still trying to figure out just exactly what the heck encompasses "POP". :-/ Adam Levin's sound sure doesn't sound like the stuff put out there by people like Katy Perry, Ga Ga etc...etc.!

LOOOLL!! So, 4Msrmyn, you're teasing but not elaborating. Do you know something we don't? I am teasing and you know I don't know anything. It goes back to when Q3 started listing hot rumors in the daily news and I said I was disappointed because I thought she meant something really hot like a sex tape. I think it was JanusAquarius that used to tease about finding the long lost sex tape, too.

Yeah, as much as I'd like something like that for our own highbrow debauched pleasure. I'm afraid it would compromise every ethic I've ever had and each one would go down in raging flames when it came time to click or not. [Spoiler: I'd click like a mofo] But I would never want Adam to have to endure that embarrassment. Ever.
