I have only listened to the samples of Cooks new album tracks but this may be the best song they have -- a great pop track would stand out even in a short clip and I could not find one. Cook is being pushed to HAC and AC markets, and primarily doing radio promos. His music video is not in any rotation on VH1 -- just "on". Adam will most likely be pushed to CHR/Top 40 and HAC, and be promoted with TV and Video -- and of course online. Two different artists, both with RCA, both from Idol, and different as night and day. But geez louise, WHY is Cook being pushed to HAC? He does rock. I know rock, and particularly his preferred brand of mid-rock, is a dying genre, but HAC? Because of the success of Magic Rainbows? He's had nearly TWO YEARS to make this record, and **this** is where he "fits in"? That's potentially analogous to saying Adam is going to be pushed to HAC because of the success of WWFM. Gah. Worrywarting. :( Not at all. Although I think they may have played him a little in the beginning, rock radio won't even play Daughtry and he's pretty darn successful. So instead they gear him toward HAC with the hopes that a big hit might cross over to Top 40. They're just taking that same Daughtry route with Cook. Adam's gone the Pop route and there's no reason to think his new music won't be geared straight towards Pop with possible crossover to HAC just like his last record. |

Just getting caught up. I am 90% sure Adam left Miami for LA on Weds. I do not have a photo but multiple good sources. Just out of curiosity, is that Sauli on top of whipped cream, or whipped cream on top of Sauli? Same strategy for Katty P, Adele, Bruno Mars, etc. Nothing wrong with HAC -- #1 song will get over 5,000 spins a week, #1 on CHR is usually around 14-15K spins. Combo is enough to make #1 on Billboard radio chart. |
