Well, if gender's very important to you......... For a long tribute for someone who has passed away on a major televised show, I think you are more likely to see artists who are of the same sex doing the tributes. Look at the Freddie Mercury tribute with an audience of a billion. Most of the artists were male. Don't make me out to be the only person who has questioned this because I have seen others on the internet ask the same question. You haven't answered mine. Where were all the male artists on major award shows doing tributes to Whitney Houston? Why would I bother answering that question, I think it's ridiculous... (editted by Q3)

You just can't answer the question.

Makes no difference to me. THEY already had other tributes on the same night. So Gaga was always going to do the whole thing.

ADAM LAMBERT @adamlambert 1m1 minute ago Loved @miguel's vocals tonight. And Stevie W w @thepentatonics !
I'm making my way through the rest of the thread this morning. Maybe someone mentioned that he used the wrong Pentatonix Twitter account. Clue #1: wrong spelling of "pentatonics."

Glad I watched "Better Call Saul" and not the Grammy's. So happy to hear that Adam sang at Clive Davis' party. It seems to me that there are a number of very influential people in the industry that recognize Adam's talent. I'll be seeing him at the Ryman -- can.not.wait!!!

You just can't answer the question. So, your Whitney question somehow proves your point regarding your Gaga query...???? I bet you got yourself all this morning (my time) over this....

Don't plan to watch Gaga (never liked her) but I am still curious on why in the world would they have female singer do a tribute for a male singer? Just doesn't seem right to me. I can't imagine a female doing a long tribute to Elvis or Freddie Mercury or Michael at a major awards show either. Because part of the whole tribute was a tribute to his androgyny? Why did they ask Adam to fill in on girl crush instead of another girl? Why did Adam pick from the "girls" list to find a Cher song on Idol Hollywood week? Why is it so hard for some people to accept an outwardly openly gay singer fill in for closeted singer mercury instead of manly Paul Rogers? Playing with gender is risky but then that's the whole point so it says something without saying it.

A day late, but one last comment about Adele's performance after seeing her and others try to blame it on the sound issues... Yes, the mic cut out, and that obviously startled her. But unless her monitors were out and she couldn't hear herself for the rest of the song, she kept hitting FLAT notes, and her tone was terrible (which it would have been anyways - it's the same on the recording of that song). Adam had the issue on the Divas show where his monitors weren't working at the beginning of Ray of Light and he started singing in a different key from what the instruments were playing. But the second he got his "ears" back, he found the right key and was perfect for the rest of the song. And he didn't go online and make excuses. He was a real pro about it.

Just like it doesn't make a difference to you if a male artist sang a long tributes to Whitney at the Grammies. Do you really think that would have gone over well? What makes your "opinion" RIGHT and mine WRONG?
