Maybe I need more chocolate to sweeten myself up...my criticizing seem to be a mainstay lately.
These artists are a bit vague about some things at times...for sure Adam has probably said the number of people at an event differently each time he was asked. (half a million to 250,000---even Brian May has done the same).
Can I not criticize Nile when he says he 'wrote" LMD. Maybe he wrote 50%, Tim and Ash 48%, Adam 2% ( Adam "adamized" or adding to the song lyrics). WHATEVER!! I am sure it was a team effort, and as a member of a team...it is with respect that the "team" is mentioned. I thought when Adam explained it...he arrived, sat down and did some writing with Nile for a half hour plus, then he sang/recorded it once--- Nile worked the magic and ---wow---LMD was birthed. I guess I just like things to be neat and tied in a bow. I just need to let it go that this is just Nile's way of making his story brief...and forgetting to mention his "friends" in that part of the process. Adam is named as one of the writers, as are Tim and Ash (on the album and as per wiki). Musicians
Adam Lambert – vocals
Tim Bergling – writer, producer
Ash Pournouri – writer, producer
Nile Rodgers – guitar
Additional personnel
Nile Rodgers – writer
Adam Lambert – writer

Miles Tougeaux @milestougeaux 7h7 hours ago How does a normally soulful Gaga do an entire Bowie tribute with absolutely none? Miles Tougeaux @milestougeaux 9m9 minutes ago If she had just done a stripped down version of Life on Mars, she would have nailed it. Eber is right. I like Gaga, but her performance was a disappointment. I think the main problem was trying to cram too many songs into too little time. Impossible to connect emotionally when you're trying to sing bits of 9 songs in a 7-minute time slot. She should have picked 2-3 songs and really delivered. Instead the performance just seemed disconnected and frenetic. Bad call by everyone involved. As noted by others before me, QAL at the EMAs is a good example of how to do a tribute medley. Also, Adam's Bowie medley during the American Idol tour (Life on Mars, Fame and Let's Dance) -- now that's how to pay tribute to the man.

O/T -- but this is David Bowie giving out an award in 1975. If you have never seen it, it is pretty amazing. youtu.be/CT79ysge1bMQ3....do you have any ideas what an artist with the potential of Adam needs to do to get to the place the top tier of artists like Bowie, get to. The only one actively working at all with this level of reverence today is, arguably, Prince. He has this stature for many of the same reasons Bowie et al from years past did....you always have to pay to enjoy him. Familiarity has always eventually bred contempt...or at least, boredom. Is it even possible for a current artist to gain this level of 'stardom' or has the playing field changed so much that this is not possible any more? I remember the discussions re the merits of how Colonel Parker managed Elvis...you famously almost never saw him unless you paid for the privilege...and that is why his TV appearance were so special....but Parker then over exposed Elvis in b and c grade exploitive films and undid all the good done in other ways.... I don't think Adam would thrive in the isolation necessary these days to gain the sense of mystery Prince enjoys...it must be a very private life he lives. Do you see another way to gain the respect without going as mainstream as he has been doing this last iteration of himself we now see....There is a reason Elton John is not as iconic as Bowie and I suspect that is more to do with his exposure than talent. I guess this is the classic Scylla and Charybdis of fame isn't it... For all of how many here were beating up on Gaga yesterday, she is still the only pop artist really putting themselves out there these days and I suppose that is what I loved so much about her performance. I agree it was pretty frenetic at times...but damn, it was daring. I hate seeing Adam keeping his performing down low, so to speak. He was wonderful at the Grammy party, but he has done that in a far more exciting way many times...the first half of the performance was especially controlled....this is definitely not the same man who thrilled us all with WLL at Fantasy Springs...and a little of me misses that, even though I understand.... Sorry if I upset anyone....that absolutely is not what I mean to do...nor am I niggling or poking...and I have a busy day so I won't even see the hate responses for a few hours, I think,...I really do think on this and I do not have an answer....I don't think Adam does either....just wondering...musing...
I totally get what you are saying and I have my own thoughts. They have to do with the reality show factor and other things. When the public perceives a singer as having "evolved" slowly, worked "small" for a period of time, changed here and there, and finally emerged with some hard-won success, I think they are more likely to give them their due, aka, respect. You don't to "like" Bowie or his music, but most people will damn well respect him. Other legacy-type singers are like that. I think we all want Adam to have longevity in the music business (and in show business in general), by virtue of his talent and the support of those fans who will stick by him over time. Shows like AI tend to negate that idea of "paying one's dues" and creating and re-creating one's craft over a long period of time. I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW that some artists pop up suddenly with very little experience and just hit it lucky with a big song. It happens. Good for them.
I agree with you about the raw, uninhibited Adam that we saw at the first Fantasy Springs. I MISS IT SO MUCH. The GNT tour was like that, too. If the public at large had embraced that persona, he may have hung onto it a while longer before he moved on. But he has to market himself carefully. He's toned it down a lot, and may eventually have done so regardless of public perception, but sometimes I think he's toned it down a bit too much. It's been quite a while now since Idol, and many people don't even remember him on Idol firsthand or know what he was like his first few years past Idol. They just know what they see now, and for some, it just might not be enough to excite them. His voice is every bit as good, of course, but some of his edge is gone. He's still sexy, but in a more sleek, classy, cool way, not so down and dirty and grungy (which I love). I know some singers can be all uber-sexual all the time and the public loves it. But they didn't all come from AI either. It's interesting that his foreign fan bases are quite strong. And the Queen gig is a God-send, giving his true, bona fide CRED in the music world.
I know I have said nothing new here, but I know how I feel. I want some of that original Adam back sometimes, along with the new, sleeker, more sophisticated version. Whatever his persona is, I want him to last a lifetime performing, gaining RESPECT and new fans along the way. I want him to stand out in the crowd with distinction, memorable and worthy of long-term respect and admiration. I want his legacy to mean something. Sorry I'm so long with this. Just had to vent!

I personally diddnt like Gnt. In terms of the over the top Glam. Not to mention the stupid continuing kissing Tommy. Toh tour far better. Adam looks so much better without all the makeup. I prefer this era but thats just me. I dont think Adams necessarily lost alot of edge. Just hes evolved. He wore edgy outfits as a way of a mask. I just think hes over it lol. And has outgrown that time. The key is fans to adapt with him.
