I have little idea exactly what will happen with Adam's album but here is my best guess.....
The basic process is that first Adam will record a lot of songs. Sometimes 30 to 40 tracks.
Then RCA execs will review those tracks and decide if they have what they need to create an album or if Adam needs to record some more songs, make revisions or some of the production needs to be changed.
Once they accept the album, they typically pick the tracks for the album, select the lead single and schedule the release dates.
Then they plan the promotion.
A major album release will often be tied to a key date. So for example, Gaga's BTW lead single was tied to the Grammies. FYE album release was tied to the AMA's.
We know that Adam is working toward a November release date. I have a lot of faith that whatever he is doing will be accepted by RCA and that he will get it wrapped up in time to hit the release date.
Studio work completed - July
(Adam takes a break)
Promotion starts - early August
(some big event for single)
Lead single - Late August - early September
(some big event in November)
Album - November
I expect 19/RCA to use a similar promotional strategy to FYE for Adam #2 -- that means a lot of visual promotion -- performances and video, so I expect some TV promo for Adam #2.
But one thing is sure -- there will be a lot of force of promotion for this album if Adam give them commercially viable material. And I expect that he will deliver a pop album that is current and very marketable.
